The property was the most luxurious hotel we stayed in all of Sri Lanka! And we had some of the best food at the hotel, and also had quite a variety of cuisines to choose from various restaurants. The interior designs of the building was spectacular. The gym was spacious and we really loved the infinity pool. The live music and evening tea at Ahasa was one of the highlights of our stay. And most importantly, we met some of the most friendly staff at the property.

We loved staying at the De Saram House, and were very excited to stay in one of Bawa’s projects in Colombo - it did not disappoint! Both the private rooms and communal areas are beautiful, and it is a very peaceful environment, whilst still being well located within the city. The dining room is a standout, and was a great place to eat breakfast with the sunlight filtering in. Anthony and the staff were very kind and helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic. We definitely hope to be back!

The location is excellent, just behind Gangaramaya temple and within walking distance of many interesting places. After what this country has been through, this country...

After what this country has been through, this country surely need lots of financial assistance to redevelop its infrastructure. . There is hardly any lighting on the streets. As the sunsets it's pitch dark. I myself would find it difficult to drive on the roads. Secondly restrooms need to be built.

Unlike olden days, Colombo looks very clean and beautiful. Also noticed less honking on streets, though we still see ruthless behavior of bus drivers and other motorists not respecting road signs or rules. However, in few hours you will realize that is the norm and you will start enjoying it as a passenger. Excellent food and eateries with reasonable prices. You can easily Uber to any place within Colombo with much ease.

Colombo is a great city with lots to experience. The people are friendly, plenty of good museums, churches and temples. I'd say you dont require a long time in Colombo but it is good for shops and eating out. We loved the Gallery cafe. that was super.

Colombo is a great city - big and bustly.

Colombo is a great city - big and bustly. I'm glad that we got to stay in the heart of it, but was glad to move on as well! Tuk tuks are the best way to get around the city centre - wherever you stay, your concierge can summon a reliable driver. The Lotus Tower was a great attraction - views over the city from a panoramic platform. There's a restaurant called Nugu Gama at the Cinnamon Grand - if you enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food give them a try. The venue is unusually like a British pub but the food ??? - it has ruined Sri Lankan food elsewhere for me as it was DIVINE!!!! The locals are always hospitable and friendly. Enjoy your holiday - we did.

Colombo is a sprawling metropolis with busy traffic on the roads. There are a few places to visit, if you're in town, but frankly not worth dying for. One is better off visiting rest of this beautiful island nation.

Aathma House provided us with a unique stay in Colombo. Only 45 minutes from the airport (at night) and the most lovely staff who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! The house is decorated with so much love, we kept seeing new things and never stayed anywhere like it! We really enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool and enjoyed the best Sri Lankan dinner at night and delicious breakfast out on the terrace in the morning. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back! Thank you team Aathma!

Definitely not a 5 star hotel, but a great base for exploring columbo. Our daughter loved the pool that was open until late, and enjoyed night time swims after a day in the bustling city. The onsite gym and spa facilities were also great! Staff were helpful in organising transport around the city. The rooms were a bit tired, but we were happy to be upgraded to a poolside view, and loved the welcome drinks on arrival. We would definitely use again if we came back to Sri Lanka.

It's kind of in the city centre, you could get a bus for almost anywhere. The staff is really nice and the lady is a good cook. They provide complimentary breakfast. The best possible price with provided facilities in Colombo. The lady guided us really well about places to visit in Sri Lanka. Wanted to stay another night on the way back but we planned a stay near the airport as it was an early morning flight. Thanks again.

A pleasant welcome from Upul and in the morning I received a delicious breakfast. The lobby features stylish and classic furniture. The hotel is within walking distance of a nice mall and it is quite easy to take the bus or tuktuk to the center. The owners are very friendly and gave me great tips for Colombo and the rest of Sri Lanka

Ideal for us as a good place to rest for 24 hours while in transit. Best hot water shower I've had in Sri Lanka. Efficient friendly staff, and enjoyed the free Colombo city tour. Close to a few good shops like BareFoot.
