A clean modern hotel with a huge room, quality fixtures and fittings, fully equipped with balcony, comfortable bed and an actual bath! The breakfast was massive, with a choice of either Sri Lankan or eggs, sausage and pancakes, along with fruit and toast. The hotel has a proper restaurant (unlike others that claim to) and we ate here one night. The food was delicious and plentiful, beer is available. The family are very happy and helpful, arranging tuk tuks and giving advice. Dambulla is a town without much to attract tourists, except the impressive cave temples and the international cricket stadium. The hotel is in perfect location for both by tuk tuk. Our visit coincided with an international match and the hotel is actually within walking distance of the stadium, about half an hour flat walk.

I was there for 3 nights, it was thoroughly impressed! The property beautifully designed, and thoughtfully equipped with everything a guest could need. The rooms are spotless, stylish, and very comfortable—clearly a lot of care has gone into every detail. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming with king coconut, going above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Though the guest house is new, everything ran smoothly and professionally. Every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care with sri lankan spices & Herbs The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was inviting, and the taste—simply amazing. Every breakfast had organic juice, A great spot for anyone who loves good food. Highly recommended The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, and the location is convenient for exploring the surrounding area. There are spices plantation Whether you're staying for leisure, this place is a fantastic choice This place offers a perfect blend of beauty, comfort, and memorable experiences. Whether you're going solo, with friends, or family, there's something here for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore, relax, and enjoy something truly special I can already tell this guest house is going to build a great reputation. Great place! The room was comfortable and spacious. The checking-in process is a very quick and warm welcome with delicious juice. The villa is run by a nice family, and they are always helpful & friendly. Breakfast was really great. 10minutes walking distance to the Dambulla Cave temple & the golden temple. Safe & lovely place to stay. Highly recommended for budget stay. Thankyou for such a great stay!

I had a wonderful stay at this B&B! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the very beginning, making me feel right at home. The place was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. Plus, the location couldn’t be better – just a short walk from the city center, perfect for exploring everything without needing transportation. Highly recommended!

The location is near the Dambulla City center, convenient for Dambulla caves and Sigria. Property is managed very well, reality is same as pictures. Breakfast served was tasty, I stayed for 3 days and onwer made sure different breakfast menu each day. All and all I had great time here, relaxed vibes due to greenray and sitout maintained outside.

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect space to relax after exploring Dambulla. The hotel’s atmosphere is peaceful and charming, with a great balance between modern comfort and natural surroundings. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of the service. I highly recommend Hotel Golden Ray to anyone visiting Dambulla — it’s a perfect place for both leisure and business stays. I’ll definitely return on my next visit! 🌿✨

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from...

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.

I loved everything they have amazing vibe, nothing was to much trouble . All staff kind and helpful. Dambulla is quiet but has local shops, cafes Pizza Hut, great small restaurant a few miles from Evergreen serving very good food. It's run by the people who run Evergreen. So recommended by me.. Anything you want to do or go and see will be arranged for you Tuk Tuk guy is a staff member . If you need car/driver it will be arranged.

The hotel is very quiet, even though it’s close to the bus station in Dambulla. The garden and pool area are very nice and perfect for relaxing. Our room was lovely, clean, brand new, and equipped with a western-style bathroom, which was very comfortable. We booked a deluxe room, located in the new building. There are also rooms available in the older building. The new building is still partially under construction, but it did not bother us at all. The staff was very friendly and considerate, making our stay as enjoyable as possible.

A wonderful oasis in a peaceful lane outside Dambulla but only a few minutes bike ride / walk into town or to the temple. We loved the stylish decor, the spacious wet room and the wonderful Japanese garden with monkeys and squirrels visiting the feeders. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us, organising tuktuks for our visit to Pidurangala and Pophams. The Hotel was spotless and really well looked after and the Sri Lanka curry dinner was perfect for us.

Great new hotel. Very close to the UNESCO Heritage Buddhist site. Had comfy beds, decent Wifi, great Air Con, quiet, and very helpful Staff. Also provided fantastic area information & tuk tuk transport. Highly recommended and if ever I return to Dambulla I will defibately stay here 👍

The best hotel we found in Sri Lanka. Lovely rooms, beautiful location and great pool, even with a swim-up bar. 500m to the wonderful Dambulla Royal Cave Temple and within easy distance of Siguriya. Superb staff, especially Anu and Siddu.
