In terms of location, style, room design, the owner's attention to details, food, staff, organization - this is the best place I've stayed in in Sri Lanka. and it’s especially incredible that all this was in a relict forest, where it was obviously much more difficult to organize everything at this high level. The atmosphere of the place and the energy of the people working in this hotel are amazing. Upon arrival, Ice tea was like a friendly gesture, a flower on the table, cool room design, floor-to-ceiling windows, a view of the pond with water lilies in the fog in the morning - indescribable. very very tasty and varied breakfasts and generally very tasty prepared food. the best owner Prasad who's meeting guests like old friend and always in touch and manager of the restaurant Tikiriki, and wonderful women who work for our pleasure. The hotel guide to the forest is simply wonderful. thanks to your entire team. you know how to surprise and give joy and pleasure.I appreciate you and grateful for my wonderful days in your hotel

We had a wonderful time at Sinharaja Forest Lodge! The room was very comfortable and clean, with a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxing. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning. The lodge is beautifully surrounded by tea plantations, and the morning views are simply stunning. A perfect place for nature lovers. Highly recommended!

We loved everything about the place: the family who runs it, the food, the river and the wildlife around. It was one of our most memorable stays in Sri Lanka. Shahara was great to communicate with and helped to arrange both a day and a night trek in the rainforest with wonderful guides. Highly recommend!

Very kind and welcoming people. Saman is an excellent guide and knows the forest very well. We saw a lot of animals including monkeys and rare snakes. His wife made us plenty of food and was always happy to assist us. And the view from the room is amazing.

Where to start? Hemal is such a such a kind guy and the best host you can imagine. It’s a new hotel so I was happy to be the first client. The hotel is at the entrance of the park and besides the great and spacious rooms as well as great food made by his wife, Hemal is an awesome forst guide that spots animals from a distance away! I did both the night tour seeing loris, scorpions, deer and snakes etc. (be silent while he’s spotting) as well as day tour with a.o. endangered monkeys and a beautiful waterfall. Also, from the terraces you can spot a lot of peacocks and other birds in the front of the stay. He also helped me arrange a taxi a good price back. 200% worth the visit!

I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. I had a great stay at the Glitz Marriott. Ananda and his family are great hosts, really nice, attentive and excellent cooks. I originally planned to stay one night but extended my stay. The room was large, clean and quiet. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea can be taken on the covered terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding rice fields. Ananda is also a very good guide, we did an expedition in the Sinharaja forest and saw a lot of animals. Ananda also organised a visit to a tea factory and took me to see the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Our stay at Rainforest Star Accommodation near the Sinharaja Rain Forest was truly unforgettable. Prabath and his lovely family welcomed us with such warmth and care – always checking in to make sure we were comfortable, well-fed, and had everything we needed. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the jungle. The food was a highlight – delicious home-cooked meals made with love and local ingredients. The rainforest walk arranged by Prabath was a real standout. We were guided by an expert who had a deep knowledge of the forest and helped us spot rare birds, insects, reptiles, medicinal plants, and even a waterfall. It was an immersive and educational experience we’ll never forget – a must-do if you’re visiting the area. Adding to the magic, Prabath told us about a nearby Poya celebration and parade in a local village and arranged a tuk tuk so we could attend. It turned out to be one of the most special experiences of our trip – a beautiful, authentic cultural event filled with music, colour, and friendly smiling locals. We were the only tourists there and felt completely welcomed. Prabath and his family are wonderful ambassadors for Sri Lanka – generous, genuine, and full of heart. If you want to experience the true essence of the country – its nature, culture, and hospitality – this is the place to stay. Highly recommended!
