We had a pleasant 2 days stay in this beautiful and stylish hotel with bespoke interiors and convenient location near the beach and not far from the Galle Fort. The hotel staff Varuni and Roshan were extremely helpful and nice. They helped us with our requests to make our stay the most comfortable. The breakfast prepared by the staff was delicious and nicely served. We look forward to staying in Taavetti Hotel again.

The most memorable feature of this beautifully curated and remarkable small boutique hotel is the warmth and friendliness of owners Maneyika and Charles. The staff and service levels are exemplary and the breakfasts, ordered directly off the a la carte menu, especially delicious and accompanied by Maneyika’s own handmade croissants, baked freshly for you. Oh, and the best coffee, yes truly, in all Sri Lanka. Take note that this charming little place is in the heart of a colorful heritage neighborhood and strict limits are imposed on what can and cannot be done in converting the building into an hotel. Please don’t come with expectations of luxury hotels with all the trappings and expect instead the feeling that you are an honored guest in the company and home of genuine and creative friends.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The design was beautiful with a great attention to detail. The hotel grounds were well-maintained and inviting, with a nice clean swimming pool. The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

quaint and charming place, with a relaxed pace of life -- besides the Galle fort, peace tower, handloom factory, silk showroom, and spice garden, there lots of good places nearby with treks and forest trails-- mahamura, sinharaja, yala, ,kanneliya-- boon for nature lovers ! watch out for the leeches though !

If you're going to Galle, stay inside the Fort. Lots of charming little villas and boutique hotels where you can drop your bags and go walkabout, soaking in the colonial charm and enjoying the relaxed vibe. Great food options, live music and incredible sunsets.

The vibe that Galle fort shares during anytime of the day is marvelous. It is a super child friendly place with amazing shops and places at every corner. It has the ambience of a unique blend between antiquity and modernity filled with aesthetic taste of rich culture and art. Seems its potential is still untapped fully. Loved the eateries and little cafes designed with elegance and charm. It showcases the serenity of a typical European port city with Dutch colonial architecture.

We originally had one full day planned at Galle but we ended up being there for longer. We didn't need to be there any longer than one day. The walk around the Fort was lovely but there were not really many good shops to see and it was a little touristy in the Fort. Unfortunately they still let cars and motorbikes and Tuk Tuks in the street of the Fort which was difficult to navigate. Not really much to do in Galle except for the Fort.

Everything! Our stay was amazing, we were looked after so well by brilliant staff, and the accommodation is interesting and lovely. Breakfast was fantastic, the Sri Lankan hoppers were our favourite. Hotel organised a great tuk tuk driver too who took us around Galle, we really enjoyed our stay, they even made us a packed breakfast for our early morning train to Columbo - really kind and thoughtful. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special

Amazing quit place with friendly staff. The room was very pretty, clean and comfortable. We felt very welcome here. It was our last nights in Sri Lanka and was good to end it here. We did the small boat trip on the river beside the hotel, very fun. The swimming pool was clean and we saw some monkeys 😀 The bathroom was outside in the room so you feel like your in the jungle but it was very big and clean.
