Stunning hotel, wonderful staff and an excellent location! Our stay at Olinda was a dream! The value for money here was exceptional. It's close to the fort where you can spend many an hour, they will also arrange a tuk tuk to get you there at a good price.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Dreamy & Authentic Stay at The Sun House. We really enjoyed our time at The Sun House. The rooms are amazing, much better than they look in photos! And the whole place has a very authentic feel. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into all the details. The staff were excellent and helped us organise some great trips and transport. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant on two nights and enjoyed some very good cocktails. Very delicious!! The hotel is a calm, quiet space, away from the busyness of Galle but still very close to everything. And the beds are incredible, some of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. Definitely recommend!!

Taavetti is a small boutique style hotel but is actually newly refurbished in execllent quality. The place is very clean amd tidy and the room was excellent. Its quiet and the staff are excellent neat and well mannered. We were received in an excellent way especially after a 2 hour drive from colombo. We were offered fresh juice and a cool towel while checking in. Checking was straight forward and easy. The hotel has its own access to a beach and restairant. We mainly had breakfast there. Its a set menu breakfast that gives u a choice of english french and asian breakfasts. The location of the hotel is not where all the 5* hotels are but beaches are beautiful in most places and Taavetti has a nice stretch of beach with seating and umbrellas

The Galle Heritage Villa is really a fantastic place to stay in Galle. Ideally located in a nice central street of the Galle Fort, this beautifully renovated colonial house is perfect. Very warm welcome from the people managing the place, very quiet area and room, at our arrival, and all along the stay. The Villa is decorated with a perfect taste and refinement, large common areas, a nice yard with trees, grass, amchairs and garlands of lights at night. We stayed in one of the 2 rooms at the frist floor. Our room was very accommodating and spacious, with a kettle for making tea and coffee. Here also a refined choice of teas. The bathroom was huge with every possible comfort and nicely decorated. The value for money was really good. Do not hesitate one second!

I loved my stay. It is wonderfully relaxing - an oasis - but in reality you are only a few mins from beachbars, tourist attractions etc. But it is perfectly quiet and relaximg. Amazing infinity pool and some rooms have their own too. I loved it. Delicious food, attentive team, spa for massages, mani, pedi, facials etc. It is the perfect place to unwind and reset. The villas are big and spacious, great bed, huge shower, day bed too, desk and chair, minibar - everything that you need. Incredibly reasonable for everything that you get.

We really enjoyed it’s position away from the chaos and noise from the main road but still easy to get around. The grounds are so lush and green , beatiful and peaceful - you almost don’t feel like going out. There are 5-6 units in the garden but designed so that they all feel quite private. Build in colonial style but also very modern. We originally booked for 3 nights, but quickly extended to 5. Ceylon Olive is the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka. Fantastic staff, fantastic place, own tuk tuk service and such a great family who runs this place. Especially thanks to Kumudu for making our stay so pleasant. We will definetly stay here again on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

I enjoyed my stay in Galle.

I enjoyed my stay in Galle. The place was very clean and the environment was relaxing. It’s a good location to explore the city and enjoy the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the beds were a bit old and already broken, so it wasn’t very comfortable. If they fix that, it would be a much better stay. Overall, a nice experience and good value.

Plenty to do in Galle, well worth visiting.

Plenty to do in Galle, well worth visiting. Just DON’T use the White Queen, as the manager will make it very difficult for you to get any redress if there’s a problem (I was charged for a five night stay instead of Four, and only realised after payment had been taken-silly me!) Enjoy your stay, just elsewhere in Galle.

Absolutely filthy city.

Absolutely filthy city. Litter everywhere, all around the fort was dirty and had rubbish , plastic waste and broken bottles strewn around and piled up in bags. They should revoke the UNESCO rating for the fort so the government clean it up. It was months of rubbish or like a field after a festival and not just rubbish after a weekend. There were just a few rubbish bins around the ramparts but they were overflowing and broken By far the dirtiest city we have visited in Sri Lanka

The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

quaint and charming place, with a relaxed pace of life -- besides the Galle fort, peace tower, handloom factory, silk showroom, and spice garden, there lots of good places nearby with treks and forest trails-- mahamura, sinharaja, yala, ,kanneliya-- boon for nature lovers ! watch out for the leeches though !

If you're going to Galle, stay inside the Fort. Lots of charming little villas and boutique hotels where you can drop your bags and go walkabout, soaking in the colonial charm and enjoying the relaxed vibe. Great food options, live music and incredible sunsets.

The hotel is in a small jungle. The location is super, within walking distance (around 20min) both to Wijaya beach and to the bus station (to Galle). You can also walk to several supermarkets and seafood restaurants. The breakfast is tasty, they have fresh fruits, eggs, bread with butter and jam, coffee and tea. The time when we arrived, we had welcome drink from Andrey. He is very friendly and offered us tipps traveling in and around Uwanatuna. We will definitely come back when we visit Sri Lanka again. Thank you very much, Andrey!

Warm welcome from the staff (fresh fruit juice on arrival). The hotel is in a beautiful building on a peaceful street, and only 2 minutes walk from the sea walls. The room was lovely and there is plenty of outside space to relax in. Huge bed! Great fresh Sri Lankan breakfast, and varied each morning. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Galle.

We liked everything about Yara Galle Fort. The historic building, the location, the size and style of the room, the delicious and generous Sri Lankan breakfast and the friendly and helpful staff. We could walk everywhere from the hotel and it was quiet and comfortable at night. We thought it was great value for money for the quality of the accommodation.

Everything was perfect. Personel was fantastic, very helpful and kind and polite. Generally people from Sri Lanka are great people. Rooms are amazing. The hotel is around 15 minutes away from Fort Galle. Breakfast was fantastic. Next time for sure I will choose the same hotel !!!
