Beautiful handmade cabin on the family plot. Its gorgeous inside and got nice finishing touches like cupboards, hanging spaces, mirrors and nice lighting. Really comfortable and nearly brand new. The family are gorgeous and made us an evening meal of local curry with many extras. Would recommend to anyone, it has 2 double beds and a large space. About 30 mins to Sigiriya Rock. Great value and they plan on building more in the plot in the future. .

A Peaceful Retreat in Nature – Highly Recommended! My girlfriend and I had an incredible stay at Elephant Fence Habarana Villa. The serene atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings made it the perfect getaway. The villa itself was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. They helped us plan activities in the area, and their knowledge of the local wildlife and culture was impressive. The location is ideal—close to the attractions of Habarana, yet peaceful and private. We loved waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying our morning coffee on the terrace overlooking the lush greenery. Woodland Sanctuary is a truly magical place to stay. The villas are beautifully designed with elevated, barrel-shaped rooms, spacious decks, and open-air tropical bathrooms that allow you to enjoy nature while maintaining privacy. The pool is perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring. Maleesha, the host, is incredible—attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He went out of his way to arrange an unforgettable private safari that gave us a close-up experience of the local wildlife, as well as an authentic Ayurvedic spa treatment that left us feeling completely rejuvenated. Location is calm and peaceful. They have a nice infinity swimming pool overlooking lake , Staff is so welcoming and well trained. Good restaurant and good sitting places. Taking a step back and comparing Spice Village to other hotels and restaurants we have been to over the last 3 weeks, I can only say that it was great experience of Sri Lankan hospitality and genuine kindness. We very rapidly felt like friends rather than clients. We have been offered cooking demonstrations, garden tour, tea party,… you name it. Our two hosts were wonderful and put a lot of effort in conveying an unforgettable image of Sri Lanka. Moreover Madou is a great cook and prepared all kinds of dishes not on the menu card, delicious traditional SL cuisine.

Sky Forest Lovely hotel in the forest, away from the noise of the highway. We had a lovely big room on stilts, overlooking the forest. Lots of birds, lots of privacy, super balcony to watch nature passing by. People are friendly, helpful and speak good English. The help in any way they can and organize walks in the vicinity. Meals are excellent.

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants...

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

There are loads to do in Habarana.

There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana...

We went to this area and stayed at the Cinnamon Habarana Village for 2 noghts. This gave us time to visit Pidirangula the rock opposite Sigiyeria Rock, Polonuwara ruins, Minneriya Safari parks and a couple of village tours to see how locaal live and eat. These village tours I would recommend as you get to try local curries made by the villagers which are authentic. Pidurangula is the same height as Lions Rock but a quarter of the price. The only thing you miss out on is seeing the ruins at the top of the ancient civilisation. Minneriya was fantastic. We did this as a last minute decision as we were advised there were more elephants here than in the Yala Safari park which we had already booked to visit in the south. We were so glad we did this as there were plenty of elephants to see and capture on camera. The ruins around this area are a plenty and definitely worth visiting as they are centuries old and date back to when Buddha came into the country. When visiting any ruins or temples men musat wear a sarong to cover their knees and women have to cover their shoulders and knees. Wearing t shirts and 3/4 linen trousers are ideal. We had a private tour guide with his car that we hired for an 8 day tour so he knew where to go, and came with us at each attraction. Would recommend touring Sri Lanka in this manner and using Madhu of Nesi Tours Srilanka. He is able to help with itineraries and pricing. We had a fabulous trip in this beautiful country with

Staff were exceptional! Can not recommend this place enough to stay in Habarana. Really safe and quiet location in a walkable distance to the main centre. Gorgeous outdoor bathroom and incredible comfortable bedroom with air conditioning. Incredibly green and lush surroundings and incredibly accomodating and welcoming staff. I can find no fault with our stay here, we will be recommending to friends and family coming to Sri Lanka. It was a bit tricky to find on google maps but is in the same location as Gabaa resort and spa.

Everything was fantastic and as described here. The room was spacious and pristine, with a nice view into nature, including peacocks walking around. The owner was really helpful at all times, gave us nice recommendations for the surrounding area and helped us with the buses for our day trips as well as when continuing our journey. The location of the place was nice as well, in a calm area but still in walking distance to the center of Habarana. All in all, I'd definitely recommend staying here!

We have spent 2 nights and we wished we had stayed for longer. The resort is located in a quiet area not far from shops and restaurants in Habarana. The facilities are very good. The staff and their hospitality is absolutely amazing, they will do everything to help you with whatever you need. The rooms are big and comfortable. It is the perfect place to relax and discover this beautiful area of Sri Lanka
