The rustic charm and quirkiness of the treehouse exceeded expectations. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see. The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices. We spoke to several people who went to Yala and spent far more, saw far less and didn’t seem get anywhere near the experience we did.

The food was incredible and the hosts were so generous with it, we could not finish it all. We loved the birds and the nature surrounding the property. Roshani took us to a beautiful sunset lookout point. We loved everything about our stay!

It was a pleasure to stay at Leel's Safari Cottage! Leel, Nameli and Leel's Mother are such heartful persons, we had a lot of fun together! The rooms are very new and have a nice view to the garden which is wunderful! Make the Safari Tour with Lee, he has very good knowledge, and gives his best to give you the most special experience. He showed us so many animals! Also the food his mother and wife are cooking is very delicious! His taxi driver sameera is also great.We highly recommend this place, and hope we come back soon! The best stay of our 1 month trip to Sri Lanka. I highly recommend Amba Kola Udawalawe. We spent 3 days and never wanted to leave. Rooms and the common area are artistically designed. Super friendly host and excellent home cooked meals. Spotlessly clean rooms and peaceful surroundings. This place is perfect, super clean with amazing views and swimming pool :) The staff is very polite and helpful, food was delicious :) That is the best place we have stayed at in Sri Lanka. We only regret we couldn't stay longer

Good place, nice host (including the dogs) and good beers and food. Wake up with the sound of the Uwadalewe birds. A great cottage made from wood. You'll feel at home when you enter the homestay. A good place to visit the national park. Book your safari via the homestay. The guide is great.

We felt very welcomed at this place, everything was really clean, rooms, surroundings,kitchen area.they have espresso machine👍If it will be possible we would've stayed longer.

Large room, excellent host (Gayan & his mom)! The location is just next (2-5 minute drive) to the National Park entrance. They welcomed us with a cool Watermelon juice. Then later that evening had a delicious & delightful Sti Lankan dinner. The host is super courteous and friendly, respectful and polite!
