It was really amazing stay. It looks like on pictures. I felt very well take care for. The hotel has just 4 rooms, gives you private vibes, very calm place, nice environment around (jungle vibes). Very close to the beach and "center" (5 mins), but thankfully outside of noisy busy life. Breakfast was good and everyday different (srilankan, but you can opt for classic english). Room was beautiful and spacious, all facilities worked well. Complimentary water after cleaning. Great matress and bedsheets, for me very suitable pillows. Special thanks to Theekshana for booking for me private yoga class and other things, as well as management of late check-out for me.

Our stay at Villa Kaya was perfect. The property itself was lovely, the rooms were big, spacious and clean with very comfy beds. The pool area was well kept, clean and relaxing. All of the staff at Villa Kaya including the night time security was amazing, so friendly and helpful. We seen lots of wildlife around, and the staff give you food to feed the local wild monkeys. Every day the property was cleaned, you see the staff working hard all day keeping everywhere in great condition. It is a good location, couple of minute walk to the main road, 5 minutes to the turtle beach. We loved our stay and will hopefully be back in the future.

This hotel is amazing - the location, the rooms, the pool, the beach, the staff, the restaurants. Cannot recommend enough. Spacious and modern rooms with large bathrooms (with robes provided with I LOVE). Both restaurants offer great food. All of the staff are so friendly! We wanted to stay longer!

Hikkaduwa is one of the best tourist beach spots with friendly and helpful local people. The weather is cool even though we had some rain, but we stayed at the villa on the balcony watching people fishing kayaking and canoeing down the River. The beach area has some unique fresh seafood restaurants, surfing, snorkeling and you can even rent out glass-bottomed boat to see underwater world. There is also a Turtle Hatchery here and Tsunami museum for tourists. Beach is very clean.

Selection of accommodation options are many to suit your budget. Most of the properties are on the beach and with great ocean front views. You can enjoy variety of cuisines in many restaurants located close by.

Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March...

Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March the flags were up for no swimming as the waves were so big. This was not a problem for us as we did not want to swim particularly but people that want to snorkeor have young children that want to swim may be disappointed. Great to be close to Galle but be in a quieter location. Aboit 20 mins by car. Lots of little bars and places to eat along the beach. Beaches are quiet and less full of tourist than Galle. There are quite a few stray dogs (everywhere in Sri Lanka) which don't bother you but do be mindful that they may go to the toilet on the beach so watch where you tread!!!

The water temp was nice, waves for surfing & plenty of shops & restaurants to choose from. Close proximity to Galle by bus & snorkelling at ant of the beaches to see colourful fish + turtles.

I was away for 44 nights in the sun.

I was away for 44 nights in the sun. Swimming reading away from a cold winter. What else can you ask for. Got good food good people. Beautiful beaches, so many beautiful things to see. Fish everywhere, sharks ( baby ones) turtles. Elephants safari the place is awesome.

After traveling through Sri Lanka for almost two and a half weeks, the Hikkaduwa Riff was our last stop to relax a bit before our flight back. For this it was the perfect place: The entire staff was super nice, courteous and also mentioned criticism regarding the breakfast we could not understand. The resort is really nice, the rooms including sea view were great and also the Japanese Rooftop Restaurant we can highly recommend. Who is looking for a nice and well organized hotel in Sri Lanka will not be disappointed here.

Highly recommended hotel! It’s a bit away from the beach, but right in the heart of Hikkaduwa town away from the busy, noisy areas. Everything you need is close by supermarkets, wine stores, and restaurants are just a few minutes’ walk. The beach is also easily reachable within 5–10 minutes on foot. Friendly and helpful staff are always available anytime, making the stay even more comfortable. Definitely visiting again in February 2026 on my next trip to Sri Lanka! Perfect place for a peaceful and memorable stay.

The room was huge, very comfortable, with a large bed, a balcony and a big, super clean bathroom. It is absolutely spotless and the comfort is like in a 5 star hotel. There is aircon and a fan and wifi is strong. The villa is 3 mins walk to a local beach or around 10-15 mins on the bus to Hikkaduwa beach. The villa is close to many restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. Most importantly, Aruna and his family make your stay amazing. Highly recommended

Great hotel, peaceful location, literally on the beach. Seems like quite a new hotel and everything was in good condition. Lovely pool. Staff were amazing, helpful and we had a great breakfast every day. Easy bus journey to Hikkaduwa or you can go to the next town north.
