We booked this hotel for the only purpose of visiting the Aukana Buddha statue. The hotel is ok for the area, which is not well-equipped to handle foreign tourists. The rooms were large but many things in the rooms were broken, especially in the washrooms. As long as we had working AC we were happy for one night. We didn’t have high expectations from this hotel, but the price could be reduced to reflect the true value and condition of the rooms and other facilities, like restaurant and pool, which were not well staffed or comfortable.

Absolutely incredible experience - a quiet, nurturing, caring place just 5 minutes of the main road. We were treated like royalty by all staff of this amazing gem - Athreya Ashram. Everything you can imagine to be in a 5 star resort was here, but in a smaller, more personal way. Dr.Thilaxi recommended all the Ayurveda treatments we can benefit from. Super chef-cook Nuwan - made the best roti and curries and best spicy daal. We are sure to return and already miss our morning yoga practice and personalized local trips, arranged by Dr. and Fonseca. After 2 weeks exploring Sri Lanka this stay stood out from all others. First, I can’t imagine a better location to the two key sites, the most famous being Lions Rock. When we arrived we immediately felt cared for, safe and comfortable. The grounds are an oasis of tropical plants and the pool was a welcome respite from the heat. Our beds were just the right firmness and the rooms were very specious and clean. The staff is very responsive and helped us in numerous way have a great visit to the Sigiriya surroundings. I learned from a driver how the owner cares for his team, helping them financially when times were bad during COVID and other problems in the country. Absolutely stellar experience.

We had a great stay here. This place is brand new so the rooms are clean,bed is comfy and shower is great for a cheap price relative to what you get. They have a pool also, which is critical as sigiriya is very hot and you need to cool down sometimes. Breakfast had everything you need, The staff was very attentive and friendly. The location is good, not that far from the rocks and has restaurants in a walkable distance Wifi signal was a bit slow

This place is not a hotel, it’s home. Sanjaya and Ruan will make you feel like home! This is a beautiful, very well maintained paradise in the middle of nature, with all the comfort, amazing people and great great food. It was by far the best stay in our whole trip in Sri Lanka and one of best ever after visiting 30 countries. People make the place. Make sure you come here because you will not regret it for sure!
