Sama Retreat is an absolute gem of a place. The grounds are huge with lovely gardens, and the stunning beach is only steps away. All of the staff were brilliant, welcoming and friendly. There are two choices for breakfast - western or Sri Lankan, we tried both and they were delicious and plentiful. The spa is amazing and I was very impressed with the two treatments I enjoyed there -a facial and a massage. Extremely professional spa staff in a very clean, hygienic and beautiful setting. The sounds of nature and running water was the best sound back drop I have ever experienced during spa treatment, and who would have thought a stint in the steam room after the massage would be so magnificent! We booked Sama Retreat as a treat for my birthday and we are very glad we did. What a relaxing and peaceful way to begin our tour of Sri Lanka. Thank you :)

Very nice accommodation in a good and quiet place, which is very carefully looked after by the staff every day. The hotel is located 1 minute from a beautiful quiet beach. We spent one night at the Black Monkey Villa in mid-September and felt completely at home. The accommodation is tastefully and functionally furnished - the air conditioning, hairdryer and fridge are in mint condition and worked perfectly. The beds are very comfortable and the covered outdoor area invites you to enjoy the beautiful view of the greenery even when it rains. The shower was a real highlight - by far the best we experienced during our stay in Sri Lanka. We were able to relax wonderfully and would definitely come back on our next visit to Sri Lanka!

Nice light new clean accommodation with spacious terrace and private entrance situated in a tranquil neighborhood off the main road. Good bathroom with hot shower. Large bed with an excellent mosquito net. Run by a friendly family doing their absolute best to make you having a great time. The hostess prepares excellent meals on request. If we have had time we surely would have stayed longer.

The room was very clean with all the required facilities. The care taker was very good. The owner was very helpful. He arranged the transportation for us. The area is remote one. If you want to experience the rural vibe while staying in a good room, go for it.

Villa 252 Kosgoda, With its beautiful sandy beaches. Not too busy and very pleasant to stay and lots to do in the erea. A visit to the Galbokka Sea Turtle conservation is very worthwhile! Or a wonderful massage at the Aryuvedic center. Or take a boad safari at the Maduganga lake. The General Tsunami Photography Museum in Telwatta is a must see if you want to know more about this terrible event. From here a trip to the 'Ducht Fort' in Galle is also recommended. In short, Kosgoda is a beautiful place to start or end your Sri Lanka trip…
