Its a beautiful place in the countryside, simple and rustic and so pretty ... the bed was very comfortable and both the room and bathroom very clean and the breakfast setting, looking at the garden and land beyond, created a very peaceful start to the day and the omelette was delicious ... the host and his wife are delightful, too!

This hotel was outstanding! Impeccably clean, with delicious food and incredibly kind staff. They went above and beyond to solve a problem we had, arranging everything perfectly for the next day. Super organized and attentive. Highly recommended for an exceptional stay! Dinner was excellent, with an exceptional rice & curry and delicious kottu (a local specialty).

This was our first stop in our 10 day journey across Sri Lanka and they really set the bar very high. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The food was delicious! After a day of visiting all the historical places in Anuradhapura this hotel had the perfect atmosphere to wind down and relax. Very highly recommend!

The host and is family are incredibly kind, welcoming, gentle and helpful ! Very peaceful place, quiet ! Bedroom is very comfy, super bathroom with a lot of water pression They welcomed us with a tea and homemade biscuits ! And he helped us a lot and gave us a lot of advice We rent bicycle to go around it was super easy !

I had a lovely stay at Residence by Amaya. The place is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d definitely love to come back!

We were stuck here during cyclone Ditwah on our tuktuk trip through the country. Not only was the room amazing value for what you get, the guy running it is the sweetest. Him and his boss did everything in their power to get as much information as possible so we could continue our trip safely. Can easily recommend the place.

The property is very beautiful and the staff are truly kind and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel twice and the food was really delicious, although a bit more expensive compared to local Sri Lankan prices. The room was large and clean, and there’s a lovely swimming pool that unfortunately we didn’t have time to try. The staff kindly arranged two bicycles for us to visit Anuradhapura — it was a great experience! Breakfast was plentiful, with a nice Sri Lankan selection and eggs to order. Highly recommended!

David runs a very good hotel. He was very welcoming and helpful. My room was excellent with a comfortable bed, very effective aircon and ceiling fan. Good bathroom with reliable hot shower. Everything very clean and secure. TV with Euronews English language channel. Good WiFi. Nice shady upstairs terrace to sit on. Rented a bicycle at the hotel - 1500R per day. A bit pricey because it wasn't a great bike but it helped a lot getting around the ancient city. Hotel in great quiet location just a few minutes walk from the railway station and not far from the ticket office of the Anuradhapura dagobas. Good cheap restaurant on Main Street a few hundred meters away called the Family Bakehouse (head south on Main Street and it's on the other side of the road). Serves very good curries and rice as well as baked goods
