Wonderful, beautiful boutique hotel! Very nice, relaxing atmosphere in all areas and territory! The hotel is located on the mountain, from where there is a stunning view! The rooms are large, with a nice design. Very comfortable bed with impeccable bed linen! The hotel has two swimming pools: one in the garden on the lower level, and the second one is on the roof - super! Very beautiful restaurant and bar; it was nice to have breakfast and dinner enjoying the beautiful views of Mirissa! Wi-Fi works great! The elevator that takes you up to the hotel is reliable and works without interruption. Thanks to the hotel and its owner for a pleasant and comfortable stay in all respects! Definitely recommend!!!

My mum and I had a lovely stay in Moringa Mirisa. The rooms are very newly decorated, comfortable and modern. There were tea and coffee making facilities and the rooms were well air conditioned. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. They always had a smile and a friendly hello for us. The breakfast was delicious and there was loads of it. We really lived the fresh fruit. The free cold water was a nice touch. The hotel is a 7 minute walk to the beach.

Bakery family is super nice and helpful. We loved the hospitality with heart. We felt like a family member. When we came we got good homemade snack and tea. We rented a scooter at their place for a really good price. For breakfast we got their fresh baked bread every day and fresh fruit salad and other things. The location was calm, little out of loud and touristic road, which we liked, so we could get a good night sleep. It is a really good place for this price. We recommend highly.

Everything was perfect. The staff is really nice and helpfull. The beach was probably one of the best in my life. Big, wide, only sand, no trash, big waves. Really recommend this place. It's only 7 rooms I think, so not so many people. Really nice pool, beds on the beach. Food all is good. We stayed on the first floor in suite, so it was really amazing experience.

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.

The beach is attractive with palm trees and beach bars, however it is very narrow and at high tide there is very little sand available for relaxing. The waves are quite ferocious at times even though the weather was calm and only the strongest and most confident swimmers were able to swim past the breakers and surf, also beware of the jet ski which operates from the area where you access the beach from the hotel, this was an additional menace.

My favorite spot was definitely the beachfront area right in front of Paradise Beach Club – calm waves, golden sand, and perfect sunsets. I also loved Coconut Hill, just a short walk away, with its panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees. Where I Ate- Most of my meals were at the Paradise Beach Club restaurant, which offered delicious Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood, and good international choices. For variety, Mirissa has some great little cafés and beach shacks nearby – I especially liked the fresh juices and seafood BBQs along the beach. Mum's Kitchen, Big Belly & All you can eat were equally good. Mirissa is very easy to get around. Most places are within walking distance if you’re staying near the beach. For slightly farther spots like Weligama or Galle, tuk-tuks are everywhere and quite affordable. we booked our car for the entire trip. things to do- Whale watching tours Sunset at Coconut Hill Beach hopping Surfing

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where...

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where tourism income trumps everything else - usually at the expense of the environment. So, if you’re looking for an idyllic escape to a pristine, tropical paradise, you’ll need to lower your expectations quite a bit. Unfortunately, the businesses lining the beachfront have been allowed to attempt to artificially hold back the sea, by building awful sea walls, sandbagging, etc. This has resulted in far less beach than there would naturally be. The other inescapable truth is that it’s quite polluted - mainly with discarded plastics (bottles, drinking straws, bags, etc.) and other rubbish. It really is heartbreaking to see, and it’s everywhere. Picking up a few bags of it everyday on my walks didn’t even make a dent! (This problem isn’t limited to Mirissa, by the way. It’s everywhere in Sri Lanka. Substantial regulatory change and investment in education are needed - now!) As a visitor, do your part and at least set a good example by not discarding your rubbish. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and welcoming, and there are quite a few great places to eat and enjoy a cold drink. I found the better restaurants on the main road rather than the beach. There are also plenty of lovely, small, family-run restaurants throughout the back streets that are worth seeking out.

I spent one night at a Coastal Villa in Mirissa, and it was one of my best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villa is situated in a calm and quiet area, yet it is within walking distance to both the town and the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The air conditioner functioned well during the extremely hot weather, and the staff were very helpful. Initially, we did not book the room with a meal included, but the staff were accommodating and provided a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes on short notice. I decided to extend my stay, and the villa staff easily fulfilled my request. I recommend Coastal Villa to anyone seeking a place to stay in Mirissa.

Absolutely a best hotel in mirissa. Rooms are spacious and spotless clean & comfortable bed. The location is perfect as it is center of the city and closed to beach and restaurant within 5 minutes. Staff are very helpfull and always willing to attend for guests needs. Swimming pool were amazing and quite in the hotel. They have a restaurant with the view of pool. And all these make you calm and without any doubt recommend this hotel 100% whether you re travel alone or with your family. I really loved my stay.

Hotel led directly onto Mirissa Beach Small hotel with great staff - friendly,helpful and polite. Great pool and sun loungers on 2 x terraces just below pool level. Just above beach level. Location beatiful..vey clean and hygienic. Seaview rooms excellent.

Excellent location. Best view hotel in the vicinity. You get a pvt shack with a beach facing view. Its clean and a bit secluded but nice option for a day if you are in mirissa. Also its walking distance from the coconut tree hill.
