This is a family owned and operated business away from the noise of the town, in a tranquil setting. Sanjeev and Lalith were very welcoming, and included us in their family and friends celebration of Sinhalese new year, which was exceptional. Room 3 was very large, and the bathroom spacious and just right. A perfect setting for respite close to nature. The meals were the best we've had in 12 days so far in Sri Lanka!

Everything about our stay was wonderful and the hosts made sure that we had a great stay. The room was clean and has a powerful and hot shower. The balcony and pool have beautiful views and are perfect after a day exploring Dambulla and Sigiriya. Our hosts were happy to prepare whatever food we wanted, we asked for their choice and both nights it was delicious. Breakfast was also excellent, and plentiful! I wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights!

Very friendly personnel For our family 2+2 we got apartment with 2 separate rooms, 2 separate bathrooms. Lot of square meters Restaurant is good. For kids from Europe, eating only pizza/pasta is very good. Swimming pool is good

WOW!!! What an amazing experience staying at Pradeep's place. It was the perfect family place, and our favourite of the whole trip. Pradeep is an amazing young man motivated by sharing the culture of his village and family. He is fantastic with kids and always ready to go the extra mile to make every one happy. The guest house is in the middle of beautiful nature, rice field, banana trees etc. The meals are prepared by his mom and delicious. A real test for authentic Sri Lanka cuisine. We had a family room which was great and spacious with very confortable beds. Location is also great to Dambulla Cave and Sigiriya and other sights around. But what we enjoyed the most is the time spent together chatting and learning about Pradeep, his family and village, and the laughs. My son just wants to go back to Sri Lanka to go back to Pradeep's place:) Big thanks Pradeep to you and your family. Wishing you all the best and till next time!

This place was an absolute experience! The views were seriously breathtaking and most of all if you are looking to relax, connect with nature and have the best time disconnecting this is the ideal place. The food served was really delicious as well. Would recommend this 100% to anyone travelling solo or with a family.

We initially worried about the location not being in the center of Dambulla, but we quickly realized that this turned out to be the best possible decision. Nestled in the tranquility of nature, the homestay offers a peaceful retreat away from the noise and chaos of the city while still being convenient. The logistics couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the main road connects you to public buses that run every few min and can take you anywhere you need. Whether you're heading to Dambulla, Sigiriya, or beyond, getting around is effortless and budget-friendly. What truly sets this place apart, though, is Ruwan, the host. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. His hospitality is unparalleled—he doesn’t just take care of his guests, he anticipates their needs. Whether it was helping us plan our day, organizing transportation, or sharing local tips, Ruwan was always there to make everything easy and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was a guided walk with Ruwan around the local area. As he shared stories and introduced us to native plants, we felt like we were experiencing a side of Sri Lanka that most visitors miss. And then there’s the homestay itself. The view from our window was magical—we were waking up to stunning sunrises. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Every meal was a feast of fresh, home-cooked goodness, bursting with authentic flavors. Sitting down to enjoy meals prepared with so much care felt special. This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience, a home away from home, and a gateway to discovering the beauty of Sigiriya and Dambulla. It was a lovely mango farm. It was so calm. The room was a good size. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food was really good. The staff were helpful and organised us tuktuks and drivers so we could do sight seeing.

To be honest, it is hard to say that the room condition or service quality is equal or better than 5-star hotels. So if you expect perfection as a hotel, you may be slightly disappointed. The room condition is a bit old. However, the experience of staying here cannot be evaluated simply by the quality of the accommodation. It is the best. Here, you can feel the philosophy of Bawa that you should be immersed in nature. If you understand Bawa, such as the depth of experience, the meaning of space, and nature and architecture, Heritance Kandalama is a place that has more value than that. The best hotel

The hotel was awesome! First we were welcomed with refreshing wipes and nice juices. They also made some kind of nice ritual with candles. Then we went to our room,which was so big,clean and comfy. Also we had a bathtub on the balcony. There was super big mango garden,where you can take walks and you can visit the nearby lake. There were several activities like big beautiful chess and ping pong. The food was a great combination of traditional and international food. It had great presentation and was delicious. The best thing in this hotel was THE STAFF. Everyone was so nice, always there to help you and assist. They were always smiling. We loved the manager,the cleaning ladies,all the girls from reception and restaurant. So nice! We reallyliked a girl named Sachini, which was mainly on the ba, she was super nice. My personal favorite one though was the NATURALIST!!! Her name was Sithumi. We definitely recomend going on the safari tour with her. She was so so so nice,always helping out and she knew so much about all animals! She saw birds for maybe 2 seconds and already knew the kind! So impressive! She was caring for all of us so much! Definitely recomend this hotel and we would love to come back❤️
