Easily the best place we have stayed during our time in Sri Lanka . From the moment we arrived , everything was absolutely perfect . The Villa is set in an idyllic location surrounded by incredible scenery and the rooms are incredibly well appointed and spotlessly clean. The Pool area is immaculate and is a setting like no other . The location is also ideal if you’re heading to Pinawala Elephant orphanage as it’s just 5 min away by tuk-tuk. Additionally , the food here is some of yhr best we’ve had, served professionally and with care and every meal was delicious . We already can’t wait to return next year! .

Our experience at Elephant Safari Lodge was truly wonderful, but what really made it unforgettable was the outstanding service of Isuru. From the very first moment, he welcomed us with a big smile and a refreshing juice, making us feel at home straight away. He carried our luggage to the room and, throughout the entire stay, he was always attentive, kind, and humble. At every meal, Isuru was incredibly thoughtful and caring, making sure we had everything we needed. What touched us the most was his genuine kindness: he would constantly ask if we were happy, showing a sincere concern for our well-being. His dedication, politeness, and warm attitude turned our stay into something truly special. Without a doubt, Elephant Safari Lodge has in Isuru a true treasure. This is the most incredible hotel. The views are simply breathtaking and the hospitality of the staff is absolutely overwhelming. Mr Thilak, hotel manager, and his team took care of every detail during our 2 day stay with them. We were travelling with young children (age 3 & 6) and they were so accommodating and kind it was really heartwarming. Small things like our eldest mentioned how he wanted to try a King Coconut at some point during his stay in Sri Lanka, and the next morning at breakfast, the team had thoughtfully carved two for the kids, in the shape of a mouse, so they could try the refreshing coconut water. Mr Thilak also arranged for a short cooking class for us to make our own Hoppers for breakfast, it was a great and interactive experience- especially for the kids. The food menu was brilliant for families, which was something we were a little worried about hearing stories from friends, but here there was even a kids menu here and lots of things our boys enjoyed. Our stay happened to fall over International Women's Day, and I was stopped in the afternoon and presented with a rose and a small gift to celebrate the event. It was so thoughtful. The swimming pool at the hotel is amazing, with views from the pool, restaurant and lobby that will literally take your breath away. Surprise visits from the local monkeys were also fun! We had a driver for our trip and also took the chance to visit Kandy which took us about 1 hour... worth the trip to see some of the famous sights, though I must say we were happy to return to serenity of Greenacres after a full on day of busy city life. We were so sad when it came time to leave, and would truly reccomend anyone travelling to Sri Lanka to brave the jungle path to the hotel and absorb the beautiful setting, wonderful views and warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Above all, the hotel has the most incredible staff with the closest attention to detail and we would truly like to thank them all for their fabulous service!

Lakshitha is a fantastic host who makes you feel at home from the very first moment. I expressed my interest in visiting a local temple, and he went out of his way to take me to one, even sharing his knowledge of Buddhism and meditation. The breakfast was abundant and delicious, and I always received a personalized experience from both hosts. I would highly recommend this property to any friends and potential travelers.

The hotel is great for elephant watching. You can have breakfast and watch the swim. The pool is open in the evening and we managed to swim after the road and go to a delicious dinner. The air conditioning worked perfectly in the room, there were no insects, there was tea/coffee. Good parking. Huge balcony. I highly recommend staying there!
