Recently stayed at Tara Waterfall Hotel for a night and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is a perfect example of modern minimal architecture, with its sleek design and glass walls. The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking view of the Handapan ella waterfall from our room and pretty much from everywhere in hotel. Waking up to such a stunning sight was truly unforgettable. The room was very comfortable and large and had a balcony overlooking the tea estate and waterfall. The staff was also incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Food was also good and reasonably priced.

This was one of the best places we've been to on our trip to Sri Lanka. It's in the middel of nature, there is a beautiful waterfall where you can dip into the water and even get fish therapy about a 5min walk from the Hotel. The glass bungalow was incredible, the room was clean, very comfortable and there is a mini fridge with snacks and beverages. Apart from the room, the host and his wife are lovely people, so friendly, warm and welcoming. We had a tasty welcome drink, then they showed us the way to the waterfall, before dinner, the host took us on a little walk to see the surrounding area and after dinner he took us on a little night walk around the house to see the little animals living there. He gave us much information about plants and animals and also organized a guided trip to the rainforest the following day. His wife prepares breakfast and dinner herself and it was by far the best we've eaten on our trip. The accomodation is not easy to find and to access if you are not travelling by car, but you can inform the host and they organize a pickup at a reasonable price. This wasn't a negative point for us as we enjoy the sounds of nature, but if you're a light sleeper it's fair to mention that the sound of the waterfall is quite loud and you can also hear the frogs and circadas quite a lot. That's definitely a pro when you, like us, like to be surrounded by the sounds of nature but may be a con if you want to be in a more quiet place. We really recommend to visit this beautiful place when you are travelling in the Sinharaja area! Thank you so much for everything!! :)

We were a family of five with adult children and had the whole villa for ourselves, and the experience was amazing! The villa is newly built and everything felt brand new but yet very familiar with Ishan heading a super attentive and nice staff. The views are breathtaking over the surrounding mountains, with a small river pond on the property to take a refreshing dip into (together with the small fish givning you a interesting fish spa experience). We just felt blessed staying in this tranquille environment, enjoying excellent food and just hanging out together. It was definitely more than worth the bumpy ride up to this place. Big thanks to Ishan with staff that made this an extraordinary experience.

We've accommodated in hotel sanctuary last week. It was very clean and attractive.The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well organized.The pool area was fantastic, to have fun.The hotel keeper was very friendly and helpful.The hotel owner was the same. The meals were really delicious.We could enjoy the scenic beauty of rakwana mountains right from the hotel.That accomodation package was very reasonable for the payed price.I recommend this place for people, who are expecting a perfect stay near Rakwana.

Our experience at the Rainforest Nest was absolutely wonderful, thanks to incredible hosts Saman and Umesha. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and their kindness and care shone throughout our stay. Saman took us on an unforgettable day exploring the rainforest - his deep knowledge of the area’s flora and fauna made the experience truly special, and we learned so much. The setting of the Rainforest Nest is breathtaking – peaceful, serene, and surrounded by nature. If you have the time, enjoy relaxing on the balcony and taking in the surroundings and watching the birdlife. Umesha’s delicious home-cooked meal was another highlight. And they even helped us arrange a taxi to Ella. A special mention to their young son, Arjun, the best tuk-tuk driver in the area! Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in a stunning location with exceptional hosts. We only regret not booking a longer stay. Thank you!

A True Hidden Gem – Absolutely Worth Staying! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with incredibly warm hospitality. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home – truly attentive and caring. My room was huge, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. It had both air conditioning and a fan, ensuring comfort at all times. The bathroom was impressively spacious, and I even had a fridge – a very practical touch. The entire property is surrounded by a secure fence, offering a real sense of peace and safety, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. It’s a quiet little haven where you can fully relax. The pool is absolutely stunning – perfect for a refreshing dip or lounging by the water. Both breakfast and meals were excellent, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. One of the best parts? You can even book a safari directly through the property, which is incredibly convenient. All in all, this place is a true haven of peace – I loved every moment and can’t recommend it enough. A stay here is truly worth it!

Host was really nice and helpful. He organised great safari for us. Our driver's name was Dushan- I really recommend this guy. He knows a lot about safari and we enjoyed it. Apart from that we had delicious dinner and breakfast in this price. I really recommend this place!
