Leels safari cottage, a pocket of paradise. we spontaneously booked our stay here for 2 nights in hopes to do a safari. We’ve been travelling Sri Lanka for over a month now and I can say this has been the nicest place we have stayed at. The pictures are exactly like the place which we were so pleased about, the room its self is beautiful, comfortable beds, beautiful layout and decoration with the blessing of air con and a fan. They also supply mosquito nets, this was the first place we weren’t bitten once! As for the bathroom it’s wonderful, full of plants with an rainforest vibe. It’s all so clean and well stocked with a kettle, wardrobe, shelf’s and great mirrors. The attention to detail is amazing you can tell a lot of love and hard work has been put into this place. The lighting is lovely giving it a cosy feel. We had breakfast included and added on dinner for both nights as the food was too good! Cooked by the loveliest ladies who do everything they can to make sure you’re happy. So much selection for both breakfast and dinner really yummy and enjoyable. It’s the perfect place to relax but also seek adventure. We woke up early one morning to go for a run, the area is lovely everybody smiles and says hello. and the views are really beautiful with thriving nature. We went to an elephant orphanage near by, luckily they know people for transport etc and Leel suggested this activity for us, we didn’t know about this place prior our visit! But so glad we went it was amazing! Our second day was Safari day, we were delighted that Leel himself is one of the greatest safari tour drivers, so we set off early in the morning and embarked on our safari around Udawalawe. I know it will be one of my favourite memories we are really grateful for Leel and his dedication to make sure we had the best time and see as many beautiful animals as possible! We had a great stay here. The bungalows are modern and have everything you could need. The balcony is amazing with a view on the river and all the animals passing through. The staff were very friendly and spoke amazing english. The food was great and the price was fair. The highlight for us was the safari that the hotel organised. We went on a 7h safari and saw everything we could have possibly wanted to see. 50 elephants, jackals, deer, birds, lizards, water monitors, buffaloes, crocodiles,… They also provided breakfast in the park which was magical. Our driver was super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about animals. Truly amazing.

A True Hidden Gem – Absolutely Worth Staying! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with incredibly warm hospitality. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home – truly attentive and caring. My room was huge, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. It had both air conditioning and a fan, ensuring comfort at all times. The bathroom was impressively spacious, and I even had a fridge – a very practical touch. The entire property is surrounded by a secure fence, offering a real sense of peace and safety, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. It’s a quiet little haven where you can fully relax. The pool is absolutely stunning – perfect for a refreshing dip or lounging by the water. Both breakfast and meals were excellent, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. One of the best parts? You can even book a safari directly through the property, which is incredibly convenient. All in all, this place is a true haven of peace – I loved every moment and can’t recommend it enough. A stay here is truly worth it!

Host was really nice and helpful. He organised great safari for us. Our driver's name was Dushan- I really recommend this guy. He knows a lot about safari and we enjoyed it. Apart from that we had delicious dinner and breakfast in this price. I really recommend this place!

A true paradise – the perfect place to relax! Our stay at this villa was absolutely exceptional. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home – the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive. One day I wasn’t feeling well, and the owner personally brought me medicine. Thanks to his care, I felt better right away – such kindness truly touched me. The villa itself is stunning – surrounded by nature, with a private and very clean pool that was perfect for relaxing at any time of day. The room and bathroom were pure luxury: spacious, beautifully designed, and spotless. The daily breakfasts were delicious, and the peaceful atmosphere of the place allowed us to truly unwind – body and soul. This is one of those places you simply don’t want to leave. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, comfortable, and beautiful stay in Sri Lanka.
