Leel and his family are the most amazing people, and the property is just beautiful! The rooms are what I'd call Sri Lankan jungle-chich, very curated clean and comfy. We had lunch, dinner and a breakfast on-the-go and the food was always great. Leel personally guided our safari and it was awesome, he is very knowledgeable and loves what he does, which is very visible :) He even offered to take us to our next destination with his jeep, providing us with a panoramic fun trip there. We would definitely recommend this property but don't book too much, we're hoping to find it available next time we come too ;)

Honestly, the stay at Amba Kola was one highlight of our Sri Lanka vacation. The host is very nice, supportive and welcoming. We very enjoyed the safari trip and a boat trip he organised for us. We participated at the cooking class which was very fun. The food on general was great. The place is beautiful and has great rooms. I don't even know where to start. This place is one of the best we stayed. First when you come, you see the amazing garden they have. Then the cabin, it was soo clean and beautiful. The terrace has a peaceful and gorgeous view. The owners were so welcoming and kind. I had some problems with my ear, and they went above and beyond to help me feel better and make our stay pleasant and comfortable. And the food !! Oh my God, the best food we tasted in Sri Lanka !! We had such an amazing stay in the jungle. Thank you one more for everything.

We rented a family room for 2 nights. The room was spacious, had two silent and effective AC's and comfortable beds. The dining area and the pool was conveniently right outside the room. The surroundings are beautiful and relaxing. The host was very kind and helpful. He made us a great breakfast and also cooked dinner for us when we wished. The dinner was delicious, don't miss out on the rice and curry (other options are chicken noodles or chicken fried rice). The safari trip to Udawalawe national park was booked through the hotel and we had a competent and good guide.

The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We did the safari at the hotel and it was amazing. Our driver was very good and we saw a lot of elephants up close. Breakfast and dinner were both good. Near a beautiful river, designed with the environment in mind. Highly recommended for a few days stay.

A True Hidden Gem – Absolutely Worth Staying! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with incredibly warm hospitality. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home – truly attentive and caring. My room was huge, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. It had both air conditioning and a fan, ensuring comfort at all times. The bathroom was impressively spacious, and I even had a fridge – a very practical touch. The entire property is surrounded by a secure fence, offering a real sense of peace and safety, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. It’s a quiet little haven where you can fully relax. The pool is absolutely stunning – perfect for a refreshing dip or lounging by the water. Both breakfast and meals were excellent, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. One of the best parts? You can even book a safari directly through the property, which is incredibly convenient. All in all, this place is a true haven of peace – I loved every moment and can’t recommend it enough. A stay here is truly worth it!

This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip! He gave me some tips, was very flexible with my requests. - Helpfulness: Arranged a taxi to my next destination, Overall, it was totally worth it, you will really enjoy it! !

Where to start... We had a wonderful stay! Our host Ravidu is a very kind man, he welcomed me and my girlfriend into his family. We will forever be grateful for the special memories created there. His wife cooked us delicious traditional Sri Lankan food at night. Thank you very much ☺️ The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a place to hang out on the terrace. There are many beautiful plants around the property that give it a jungle feel. We saw many tropical birds around. I 100% recommend booking a safari through Ravidu, he partners with a guide with many years of experience. The safari guide was knowledgeable about the animals and different species we saw on the safari. He was very respectful of the wildlife and drove slowly through the park unlike other jeeps..!!

The location of the cottage is fantastic, within walking...

The location of the cottage is fantastic, within walking distance to Udawalawe Handhi. The room is beautifully designed with huge glass windows to appreciate nature. Very clean. The host welcomed us warmly, and I must mention: this is where we had the best breakfast in Sri Lanka. It was provided to us for free.. Thank you!

We really enjoyed Ravidu Safari House!

We really enjoyed Ravidu Safari House! It is located about 5 minutes from the entrance of Udawalawe Park and is in a beautiful location among the trees. The manager Ravidu and his wife were very friendly and organized a wonderful safari for us to the park. We saw over 50 elephants and other animals, so we had a great time. Our room at the hotel was large, comfortable and very clean. We also had a lovely dinner at the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to do a safari in Udawalawe.

The accommodation in this place has magical peace and quiet.

The accommodation in this place has magical peace and quiet. The cabin is clean, air conditioned. Our host in the main building prepared us excellent Sri Lankan food. He is a wonderful, smiling and funny man with a wonderful family. We decided to go on a safari, which he helped us organize. As promised, our guide spoke good English and was able to identify animals that we would not have seen on our own. We highly recommend this place!

Very friendly family running the place made us feel at home. Well located close to the Udawalawe National Park, where you can do safari. The hosts helped us book a safari trip and did a Sri Lankan cooking class for us which was super cool. For the safari, they had a driver who was very knowledgeable about all the different species of animals and birds. They also packed our breakfast to go for us. The room was very spacious and the temperature was comfortable (there was an ac unit).

We booked the Mansala Safari house to do a safari in Udawalawe National Park. The owner and his family are very friendly and helpful, they made sure you have everything you need. The homemade dinner was THE BEST dinner we had in our 2 week stay in Sri Lanka! The room had a nice balcony where we could sit, read and watch the monkey play in the garden.

Great base to go on a safari in Udawalawe! The hotel organised a tour for us which was great - just be aware there is a national park fee on top of the Jeep/guide fee charged by the hotel. Lovely pool area to relax in and very friendly staff too
