Everything was beyond my expectations; the staff, the facilities, and the location. The staff Lashitha was the most hospitable, kindest person I met in Sri Lanka. He taught me many things about the country and was eager to help in every possible way. The breakfast was big and high-quality, the room was very spacious and clean. The location is perfect as well. It's close to the beach, a big supermarket and a few local eateries are nearby. I had stayed at another hotel before Mzion, and this hotel changed my experience in Weligama.

Such a quiet hotel close to everything and to the beach with its surfing spots. We loved the spacious rooms and very clean swimming pool. It was so practical to be there with children. We will come back!

This is the best hotel we’ve been in Sri Lanka! The place is amazing, in the middle of nature with an amazing view from the pool and from the balcony. The room is also very nice, decorated with good taste and very clean. Even more we appreciated the staff in this hotel, all of them are very friendly and always ready to help with anything in the minute we ask for something. The food here is also great. We really loved our stay here and extended it for 4 more nights!

Our stay at Naomi Beach Resort was absolutely unforgettable! The location is simply breathtaking – the hotel is situated right by the ocean, offering stunning views and the soothing sound of waves throughout the stay. The food at Catch 99 restaurant was a true revelation – fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared. The staff was always smiling, kind, attentive, and ready to fulfill every request – they truly made us feel at home. The hotel itself, both inside and out, exudes style and elegance. Great location, right in the middle of Weligama surf beach. Just around the corner from the bus station. Great views from the balcony over the beach. The room has a nice kitchenette a massive double bed and a new shower room. The WiFi is good for streaming movies and TV shows Mamas also has the best fish restaurant in Weligama opposite the hotel. I enjoyed my stay so much that I’m looking forwards to my next visit. The owner helped me plan a number of trips.

We were there 4 nights during off season.

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

Weligama is an absolute gem for travelers! Whether you're chasing waves or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this place has it all. The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Overall, Weligama is an unforgettable destination that perfectly balances adventure and tranquility—a must-visit for any traveler! 🌴🏄‍♂️🌅

If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place.

If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place. But (compared to other places in SL) it’s pretty dull. Half the beach is a litter-strewn dump rest is tolerable if you’re surfing. Precious little else to do.

If you want to experience a true Sri Lankan vibe, visit this place with a panoramic view of the ocean that will wake you up in the morning and lull you to sleep in the evening. Also try an endless variety of smoothie bowls, milkshakes, fresh see food or egg shakshuka in the restaurant on the roof. The place is just a short scooter ride from Weligama beach, Jungle beach and many others, but at the same time it is very peaceful, authentic and friendly. I believe that it will become your cozy home for a while, just like it was mine.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Shan Star! Shan couldn't have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. He went the extra mile to make sure we were happy, and just generally offered an outstanding service. This accommodation is unbeatable on price, and is the best value for money hotel we stayed in while visiting Sri Lanka. The breakfast was also great, with delicious fruit picked from the garden itself! Shan organised a great snorkelling excursion for us, which was fantastic too. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Without a doubt the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! Fantastic and friendly hosting with a huge breakfast + extras served every day (you will not go hungry here). The accommodation is only a stones throw from the beach yet far away from the hustle of the main road running through weligama. If you enjoy watching wildlife I would suggest booking a room with a river view balcony to see many birds at sunrise/sunset. I really cannot recommend this place enough!

This is by far the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka. This hotel is just perfect. The location is unique, the beach is not crowded and the sunsets at the beach hut next by are breathtaking. Food is great, rooms are clean and all of them have a great view. Price-Quality= 10/10 And the best part is the amazing staff. Everyone, from the cleaning to restaurant staff was extremely professional and kind. Thank you for having us, you can be proud of this hotel :)

Beautiful new hotel runned by a passionate and super friendly Italian. The rooms are beautiful, very nice design, comfortable and if you take the top room you can see the sunrise 🌅. Everyone from the staff was really friendly and always helpful. You can walk to different Surfspots (fishermen, jungle beach, weligama). Close by are some delicious local restaurants or you can ask Enrico for original Italian food. Thanks for the nice time!
