Historically and culturally rich Kaunas is surrounded by lush forests and waterways. It is home to an array of churches, museums and a charming Old Town consisting of diverse architecture and locally famous landmarks.
Running through the heart of Kaunas, Nemunas River is the vein that pumps through Lithuania and connects the country to neighbouring Belarus. It has several bridges which link the centre of Kaunas to townships such as Aleksotas, Karmėlava and Prienai.
Kaunas has many cultural and heritage buildings such as the Pažaislis Monastery and House of Perkūnas. We liked the Botanical garden very much. One can spend a full day there. Spacious and very relaxing. Great choice of flowers.
