Unfortunately Jelgava was completely destroyed at the end of WW2. Nothing but 5 or 6 historical buildings left. The city is all soviet built soulless block houses. Very sad and not too interesting for visiting.

Interesting castle close to the hotel with good water...

Interesting castle close to the hotel with good water activities offered on the river. Did not use public transport but had a hire car. The streets in general were well maintained and well signposted so that getting around Jelgava by car was easy.

I adored the city.

I adored the city. It is a nice mixture of historical sights and nature. The riverside and the island are wonderful and it is really nice to walk in the streets. We came by car and there were a lot of parking places. If you don't wanna walk too much, there are plenty of electric scooters too.

I couldn't say that Jelgava has a lot of attractions (...

I couldn't say that Jelgava has a lot of attractions (especially in winter during Covid, hehe), but for a short visit it was pleasant and entertaining. Ice sculptures served as a main attraction with general city illumination nicely adding to it, while a great steak served in PARKS restaurant did well to make for a complete evening.

A hotel with all the necessary things and professionally friendly crew. Breakfast was okay; not a full English but the usual eggs and stuff were there. Pretty much everything worth visiting in Jelgava is at a short walk's distance. The hotel is at a corner between a nice riverside promenade and a busy street, so the location is a bit of a mixed bag. Watch out for traffic signs, you may not be able to reach the hotel via the route suggested by your gps.

We arrived after midnight and reception was closed but we easy finned keys from our room and bill. In the room was clean and nice soft bed. We had our dogs with us and there is enough place to walk with dogs. Very cosy place! Near by hotel almost finished for use fast charging station. Too bad we needed to leave very early because we had ferry in Tallinn at 14.00. I would like to stay longer in this beautiful place.

Working mini fridge and with good temperature.The property's hotel room exudes an inviting ambiance, adorned with tasteful decor and providing a comfortable retreat for guests. The tv was available, you can watch whatever you want, netflix, youtube, internet browser etc.

The quality of the room was on the high level, furniture inside our (49 euro) room was much better than in some expensive (260 euro) German hotels. And the size of the bed is shockingly big and comfortable at the same time!
