The place certainly had splendour about it. I had arrived late afternoon so was able to have a walk in the gardens, say gardens more like an estate. Peaceful, clean and warm. The manager was more than helpful even suggested some routes for me to go after I had left. There is a shop that stays open to a decent time and you can get some hot food there. A very short walk as no catering on site, but that was made clear in the booking. Kitchen was well provided, no cooker but microwave, toaster, kettle fridge.

Dubavi is a little house full of history on the edge of town, the people living there passed away and it’s still full of books, vinyls and even a piano belonging to the others. So clean and so fresh! We didn’t want to leave. There is everything You could need. Comfy bed and everything so stylish. Want to return on summer and try sauna and swims in river Gauja.

Absolutely beautiful location in a Latvian countryside. Just the right size for a family of 4, and very comfortable. We didn’t use the facilities of sauna or jacuzzi, but the host set us up the fireplace and we spent amazing evening there.

I couldn't find the property, so I called the hostel. After a moment the lady working there came to pick me up and drove me there. It's around 30 minutes away (on foot) from the city center, next to the Valmiermuiža property, which is really nice. There is a bus nearby. The room was very clean, there's a large kitchen. The showers are communal, but it wasn't a problem. It's mainly a worker hostel. Overall a good stay.
