Wow, staying in a grotto! This was very different to all the other accommodation we had during our travels, a great experience! The grotto is beautifully decorated in traditional style with a lot of attention to detail. It has 3 bedrooms, a portable heater, comfortable beds with lots of blankets, internet, hot water. The owner is very friendly. We went for a walk in the village which was also interesting and people were friendly.

Dar el Mandar is a true oasis of tranquility and hospitality nestled away into a mountain side with a stunning view of Fez and the surrounding plains. The property is designed with great attention to detail - minimalism paired with traditional Moroccon style. It is elegant and luxurious, but down to earth at the same time. We spent 2 nights here to enjoy a full-day break of relaxation, sandwiched into an otherwise pretty packed itinerary of exploring Morocco. We couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Dar el Mandar was the perfect place to find some peace and quiet, and to recharge our batteries before diving back into the bustle of Fez. The rooms are clean and tastefully furnished, the staff was extremely attentive and they served excellent food as well. If we ever come back to Morocco we will make sure to spend a few nights here, Inshallah :)

We lived one of the best experiences ever with Kamal and Jalila We had a delicious dinner, the house is wonderful and Bhalil is magical We had dinner together and laughed a lot! Very welcoming and helpful staff that even came to pick us up when our vehicle broke down. The room was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed having hot chocolate near the fireplace at the restaurant. The hotel is close to the market and looks very nice, both inside and outside. The parking was also good.

Very friendly and helpful owner. Cooked dinner for me, even though I was the only guest as I was staying in early March. Secure parking for motorbikes. Would've liked to have stayed longer.
