Midelt was an interesting town/city. There is lots to explore there. We enjoyed wandering around the souk. Sitting at the foot of the mountains it is quite beautiful in the changing light. This place has the feel of a rough and ready desert town.
This place has the feel of a rough and ready desert town. It has a variety of people who live here, and was dry as a bone when we stayed. We were hoping to hike the surrounding countryside but couldn’t get it together so walked around the various neighbourhoods. This turned out to be a great experience. We found a very interesting Berber village, a completely unexpected Catholic monastery, and a very bizarre but beautiful guesthouse. I am happy to have found Jaddou's place as it is very conveniently located, right off the main road. The host welcomed us himself and was very attentive during our stay. The rooms were large and clean, the bathrooms were adequate as well. As it was Christmas Eve, we wanted to celebrate with our friend, and Jad offered the whole breakfast area if we wanted to use the utilities there. It does not get better than this! The food in the evening was one of the best I had in Morocco. The villa is of course old but also cozy. The beds are so soft that we fell asleep unintentionally in the afternoon. The pool was exactly how you want a pool to be. I can only recommend the hotel!
