The scenic location of Kotor in Kotor Bay is spectacular.

The scenic location of Kotor in Kotor Bay is spectacular. I recommend a boat trip on the bay. You'll need an extra day to fit that in. It's inexpensive, in a small boat, and you get to see the incredible views from the water. The old town is very nice, small, but when cruise ships are in port it is very crowded, not pleasant at all!

Old Town Kotor is beautiful. It is small and very walkable. My husband and I did not walk up the 1000+ steps to the monastery, but others in our group did and said it was amazing. Kotor Bay is stunning! The waters are so blue and the mountains surrounding this entire are breathtaking. It was the perfect location for a destination wedding! (Our daughter was married in St. Tryphon's Cathedral! It was absolutely fairytale perfect!)

The views of Bay for Kotor are incredible!

The views of Bay for Kotor are incredible! Would definitely recommend a boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks and Perast. The Old Town is beautiful! If you want to climb the Kotor Wall for free, use the entrance outside the Old Town walls. Beautiful views!

The town is blessed by a glorious setting, the emerald green bay with steep mountains as a dramatic backdrop. The town itself is graced with more stylish Venetian palazzos that you can shake a stick at. But Kotor also suffers from the curse of colossal cruise ships, which can flood the tiny town with hundreds of tourists at once, even in October. There are lovely walks either side of the bay with cafes that have the most scenic views imaginable. It's a good way to get away from the crowds and to enjoy the spectacular panorama. If I had my time again, I would spend three nights in Kotor instead of six and spend at least two nights in Perast, an improbably picturesque spot.

Lovely place that can get very busy when boats are in the dock. It has small streets and this can sometimes be difficult to walk down when thousands of people descend on the city! The surroundings are gorgeous, with some lovely food to be found. The people are very friendly and helpful too. There are numerous people selling boats trips to Perast and other places -- definitely worth it. It is on the pricey side and, because it's quite touristy, there's a lot of ways money is forced out of you. Beware: There's no Uber or Bolt or anything like that, so taxis can charge what they like. They try and charge 15 euros to walk up to the fort (there is a longer way around that is free). Every cash machine charges 5 euros to take any money out, so take some with you, or take large amounts out.

Beautiful old town, essential to take a boat trip along the bay to view the majestic mountains. The cable car is also a great activity, not only do you get a view of Kotor Bay but when you get to the top there is a lot to explore. The roads are very busy so it takes a while to get around. Essential to book a taxi before you arrive at the airport as the taxis from there are very expensive. Absolutely amazing scenery. Very busy old town as cruise liners arrive daily.

The room was spacious and furnished with imagination and character. It had a view over the bay, albeit from a skylight window, plenty of room for clothes and was very comfortable. It was very reasonably priced in a town that is otherwise almost uniformly over-priced (at least in relation to the rest of Montenegro) and was located on the edge of the old town, up steps and sufficiently back from the noise of bars late at night, a short walk from the bus station. The owner was very pleasant, helpful and laid-back.

Incredibly warm welcome by the family, very caring with lots of attention to details. They offered us a bottle of wine when we arrived, and were eager to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The flat was very comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed. the area was quiet although being at a walking distance from Kotor old town (10 min). This has been our favorite place to stay during our trip in Montenegro. thank you again for welcoming us !

Beautiful boutique hotel. Has its own private beach and rooftop swimming pool. Outstanding breakfast which you can have on the beach, lots of choice and all very tasty. Jelena, the owner was wonderful. If we ever stay in Kotor again this will be our first choice. We loved the location as it felt isolated and had amazing views. It is a pleasant 50 minute walk to the center of kotor old town or a quick and cheap taxi ride.

We stayed for one night. At first the AC wasn’t working well, but the staff were really kind and upgraded us to the hotel suite. The room was nice and had a special vibe. The hotel is inside Kotor’s old town, and the design fits the historic atmosphere. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was honestly one of the best I had in Montenegro.

Excellent location, clean and tidy. Old town is a few minutes' walk from accommodation and convenience store is also very close. Host is very friendly and accommodating. Free parking is included (you have to reserve). Especially useful if you want to visit other locations in Montenegro and not worry about parking spot when you return.
