I travelled with a friend for her birthday treat. We realised we are in for a great time from the moment we arrived and we were met by a charming valet who welcomed us graciously like we were some "queens". We had a grand welcome at the reception and the wow moment was when we entered our room only to be welcomed by a complimentary champaigne bottle and two maritim branded sunhats in a magnificent and spacious room. The services at the bar, restaurant, the SPA, the horse stable...all exceeded my expectations. Did i even mention that the DJ was so accommodating as to play a happy birthday song for my friend Joan, played for her a Kenyan song and played for me a Malawian song of my liking? And did i mention how the restaurant went the extra mile to bring for Joan a cake, sung a birthday song for her at breakfast? A rating of 10 cannot even begin to explain the experience at this hotel!!!

One of the best resort I've ever been at. The staff is amazing! Everyone - especially the receptionist and the cleaning lady were super kind and helpful. Literally everything was perfect. This hotel is a hidden gem, offering a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere and an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. The Staff are exceptionally professional, and genuinely attentive. A special thanks to Mr. Kiran who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was flawless. The private pool is absolutely amazing, as well as the outdoor area. The rooms are super comfortable and hard to leave. Particularly enjoyed the beach- so peaceful, with plenty of picturesque spots.

On one of the most beautiful beaches this little hotel is providing everything you need to have a great vacation.Rooms are big and comfortable. Clean and well organized place. Coffee here is so good and the breakfast is outstanding. Kanu and glass bottom boot trip to the reef 🪸 is offered for free. Here you can snorkel and see the underwater world. They are really Kids friendly and offer proper meals on the menu for kids. We extended our stay...that's how great it is here.

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which...

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a...

Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a cooling breeze along the coast. Couldn`t fault the staff, always very friendly an helpful and the room service was excellent, clean and efficient. We were not a young couple (in out 70s and 80s) and preferred to stay and enjoy the restful facilities of the resort. We could see that young couples with children were having a good time and were more likely to travel around the island in the heat.

Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere.

Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere. We were fine with a good dinner and the occasional musician but some might find it boring. We used a driver but if not then you’d need a car to get round the island. It was cyclone season so mixed weather but in general the North of the island has drier sunnier weather than the South.

wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much.

wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much. there are free and paid activities it is very good for families. 12 minutes from seewoosagur ramgoolam botanic garden and 15 minutes from port luis by taxi. there are 2 resturants and bar on the beach, there is delicious hot snack bufffet ( 4 - 5 pm).

The host was exceptional and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The apartment was fantastic, clean and cosy. Kitchen area, bathroom, bedroom and lounge with a t.v with Netflix. Great location, not far from balaclava turtle beach.
