Highly recommended. New, modern, furnished with love. We had personal warm welcome, owner was very friendly and nice, responded quickly when we needed something. We had car, so for us location was really good, close to beaches, hills, national park, activities, supermarke, etc. I would book it again.

From the booking to the day we checked in everything was nicely handled. The host has been very helpful in guiding us through the process. The apartment is simply wonderful, well equipped and very clean. We literally didn't lack anything. And it is perfectly located which made it easier to get to the nearby facilities. We really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

Everything! We enjoyed the space in the house, it's nicely equipped, and close to La Gaulette town centre (restaurants and supermarket). We loved all of our excursions around Le Morne! Must see places when you go to Mauritius. And above all, Avish is a genuinely friendly host who's caring and here to help, such as arranging a boat trip.. He's of a great advice!

Our stay at this penthouse was truly outstanding! The apartment is spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable. The highlight is definitely the breathtaking views — with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, it feels like waking up in a postcard. Everything was spotless and well taken care of, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I liked the Cleanliness and the good organisation of the property. I liked the fact that the property was not on the main Road so there were less traffic noise caused by bus ect. Safe place with the very kind tenants living on the ground floor. Electric fence around the garden. Everything was well explained about the overall good running of the property. Good Restaurants and shopping centre in the area.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more...

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

An ideal place to visit La Morne and surrounding areas without the crowds. Nearby supermarket for groceries and restaurants. We had a car which made travelling around easier and i would reccommend getting one when coming to Mauritius as you see so much more

Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

The clear water at the beach was exelent.

The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. Kite surfing ist also the place to be! Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!

not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

This apartment is literally 2 mins by walk across the waterfront at La Gaulette. The place is calm and extremely well designed with all modern facilities. 10/10 for the cleanliness and aesthetic. The hosts are incredibly warm and will make sure your stay there is comfortable. I planned to stay for 1 day but ended up extending my stay to 3 days. Highly recommend this place. *Booking.com shows wrong location due to some technical error but this property is just near the La Gaulette Bus Stand.

At our arrival the owner was expecting us, he helped us getting settled and we found a very warm welcome and a very clean appartment with all amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Communication with the owner was very good at all times and this family deserves a 10 in everything. The location of the place is perfect for exploring le morne, the Southeast coast of Mauritius and to do some hiking. We would go back to this place with no doubts.

Perfection. There is everything you need, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, wash machine, carpark, private swimming pool and outdoor area. The owner is lovely and very helpful. Close to shops, restaurants, and 10 mins drive from the most famous beach in Mauritius. I cannot recommend it enough.

We felt right at home at Mathieu’s We were staying at a resort before and this felt so much better and more personalized. Plus La Gaulette is a lovely town and Mathieu had been a very kind and helpful host. Lastly this is a wonderful part of the island for nature lovers
