We spent two unforgettable weeks at the Anakao villa (March 2023). It was our first time at Mauritius. If you’re driving by car at night - pay attention- it is easy to miss. The location is convenient if you plan to travel a lot around the island. We used it as a base to go to locations north and south. After a long journey, we had a great welcome by the by super friendly hotel manager Ben and his dog Zuru. Ben told us all the sights we need to visit and other local advice (groceries, beaches, rhumeries etc. ) We were staying in the red room. It was big, nice and clean. We had access to a big balcony with view to the garden. The swimming pool was great and we spent a lot of time either in or around the pool. We enjoyed the view from the swimming pool every day! Although, there’s no sandy beach, there’s a carved out access to the ocean, where you can swim, kayak ( gear available) or snorkel. The hotel also provides swimming shoes to protect against steeping sharp stones. We were thinking of going out for dinner every night, but the dinner at the Villa was so delicious that we ate there every night. Especially, we liked the desserts. There I tasted the best cheesecake in my life. We actually had a true 5 star service. It was raining, so we ordered by phone from the kitchen and they brought the food under an umbrella! Somehow we really felt treated well. The Villa ambiance was very relaxing and family-oriented, all the staff was super friendly and supportive.

I always love too stay here, the staff are helpful, friendly and courteous. I love how they have breakfast in the morning and they also washed my clothes perfectly. I loved my room, I paid just a tiny bit extra and got the best room with both views of the racetrack and the surrounding mountains. It always feels like home when I am there. The owner and Isabelle were absolutely fantastic and their messages and instructions were crystal clear. Sadly both of our mobiles could not pick up a roaming signal anywhere on the island at anytime Whilst the entrance gate is directly opposite the church the name of the property is not on the gates it is named "Elba" so it was a bit tricky to find and we spent 45 minutes locating it We loved the fact that Port Louis is a proper community with virtually no tourists whatsoever
