United KingdomThis is a lovely local place to stay on Gan. The owners are so kind and welcoming, like being a part of their own home and family. They cooked amazing fresh fish for us on a few nights, held a bbq with some of the locals and the breakfast was a great selection of tropical fruit and eggs. The room was spotless clean and modern. They even had a great set up with an outdoor sink and hose to clean our diving equipment. Really recommend staying here! A wonderful experience.

The largest island in the Maldives.
The largest island in the Maldives. Therefore, there are numerous restaurants (when they're open) and a sense of "real" life. It remains a very peaceful, village-like Muslim experience. The miles of fine sandy beaches and the house reef are impressive. Unfortunately, they also bear witness to our throwaway society. Very suitable for beginner swimmers and children.
