We stayed at Kulenga after a long trip on the Ilala ferry. The staff are super friendly, bed was comfy, the place very peaceful and the shakshuka breakfast really delicious!

I had the most relaxing stay at Norman Carr Cottage. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the private beach is idyllic. Leonie made me feel at home from the second I arrived. Both Taffy and Leonie are wonderful hosts and lovely to chat to. I look forward to coming again next time I’m in Malawi!

Mgoza exceeded my expectations! The staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful, the views overlooking the lake is breathtaking and the food is great. Amazing value for money! We slept really comfortably and the fan in the room was a life saver. It was really hot during our stay, but the lodge is located under big trees which made the chill / restaurant area nice and cool. Would highly recommend when visiting Cape Maclear

I truly enjoyed my stay at Chipatso! I originally planned to spend just one week in Cape Maclear, but I ended up staying for eight weeks. That said, the lake is still just a short walk away, so you can easily enjoy the beach and the water whenever you like. The vibe at Chipatso is super laid-back and family-like, and you feel welcome right from the start. The rooms are clean, cozy, and very creatively designed, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. What made the experience truly special were the people: the lovely mamas who live on the property are so warm and kind, and the kids are curious and always up for some fun. The rest of the Chipatso team is amazing – friendly, helpful, and always there when you need something, whether it's arranging transportation to your next destination or helping you organize an activity. And what makes Chipatso truly unique is that it’s not just a lodge – it’s also a community-based organization with a meaningful mission. They run an education and nutrition program, and support single mothers in the area. If you're interested, don’t miss the guided tour with Kim, where he shares the inspiring story behind the organization and the important work they’re doing. Also, don’t miss the sunset hike to the baobab tree with Ilia – it’s absolutely worth it! And make sure to try the chicken schnitzel – so good. Thank you so much for this amazing time! Super friendly staff and super friendly service that always put a smile on your face. Besides, you can ask them anything and they will help you with your requests. The view is fantastic and and rooms great. I would go back here again
