The wonderful hosts!! We couldn’t have had a more welcoming experience and felt more at home. The grounds weee peaceful and lovely, the rooms were clean, spacious and colourful. Elissio and his staff put their heart and soul into their establishment. Make sure you have a bite to eat and drink at the attached cafe/bar. We loved our stay! Muchas gracias!!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The Quinta is beautiful - especially the lush garden with a relatively large pool. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Rosita and her daughter were great hosts and cooked us a wonderful breakfast. Warmly recommended!

We spent a night at Pickled Onion, on the road between Bacalar and Merida. We'd chosen this spot so we could visit the nearby site of Uxmal. The place was a little gem in the heart of the region, and the host was very attentive to her guests. Very good restaurant too.

It’s a unique experience, being a hacienda. So it wasn’t a classic hotel experience, which was great for us. The bathroom was something new also, with sky view. Big and clean room, nice furniture, great breakfast experience. The Hacienda is very close to the archeological site of Uxmal.

Gorgeous location, delicious breakfast (not a wasteful buffet), really amazing staff!!! We had a small issue with the bathroom and it was fixed immediately. Excellent location with Uxmal on the doorstep and perfect for an early visit on opening.

Very Clean a unique jungle experience. Trees and rock lined paths made it feel like a jaguar was around the next tree. Price was great and I would stay again.

The city of Sacalum is remote and devoid of all options that tourists expect as reasonable accommodations for travelers. The roads in and out are narrow, winding, filled with "topes," rutted and dangerous, especially at night. I spent 3 days there and found no open restaurants. This small city is a "food desert." I stayed at a great resort that had no restaurant. I wound up traveling 10km at night to either Muna or Ticul just to find local comida. Many times, arriving in Muna and Ticul, I could not buy meals because I was looking to buy outside normal dining hours. I can find no reason to recommend Sacalum.

A highly recommended place to spend a day or two away from the noise. The rooms are ideal, the pool is lovely and peaceful, the staff is very friendly, and the town has a great café in the center (Kiwik) with good food, nice decor, and a great atmosphere. The perfect place to get away for a day or two, without a doubt.

I loved everything: the rooms, the spacious house, the facilities, the lovely pool, the natural scenery, the peaceful breakfast area, and the delicious but somewhat slow food. What I didn't like was the lack of air conditioning downstairs, which made it hot, but the bedrooms themselves were very comfortable and spacious.

The town is in the middle of nowhere, but it's perfect for staying a few days and exploring the nearby pyramids and cenotes. If you don't have a car, it's difficult to get around and explore the sites. If you have a car, it's ideal.

We were very comfortable.

We were very comfortable. Since it was low season, they gave us a better room than the one we had booked. A very nice touch. The room was beautiful and spacious, as was the pool. The restaurant was lovely, with its outdoor lighting and soft music that made us feel very relaxed.
