As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. Tulum is the jungle so go prepared. Repellent and sunscreen. Avoid taxi cabs it’s way too expensive. Opt to rent a car you will see way more of Tulum that way. Make sure to spend time at the cenotes. Avoid August because the seaweed makes the ocean unbearable.Guest review byJuju - 10

Once you know the right places to go, where to book transportation, which tours to take, I’m sure you will have the best experience and you won’t want to leave! Tulum is a city you'd have to explore more, especially with car access which we didn't have. Things could get expensive fast with the transportation, souvenir shops, and cafes that cater to tourists. I spent $35 USD on brunch, which wasn't a lot or filling at all. Yet you turn the corner, and a birria taqueria fills you up for only $16 USD. Tulum south is good, friendly and helpful people . It didn’t seem right to pay to visit paradise beech. No clear guidelines to visit beeches via resorts.
