We only stayed one night at Spring Hill Cottages, but it’s been a real highlight of our trip so far and the best place we’ve stayed in Borneo. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with lush tropical gardens, wooden chalets on stilts and a stunning view of the mountains. We’re from Australia and didn’t know Tawau at all, but the owner went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They picked us up from the Tawau bus station after our bus journey from Sukau, then drove us into town for dinner, stopped at a supermarket so we could grab suppliesand even collected us again afterwards... it was incredibly generous and very much appreciated. This place is perfect for travellers looking for a peaceful, resort-like escape and a chance to rest and recharge during their Borneo adventures.

Very clean and friendly staff, very helpfull with organizing transportation. Hotel is a 10min Grab ride away from the so-called 'center' but has a very nice location nonetheless, close to a lot of restaurants and stores, so very satisfied with the hotel.
