David the Manager of the guesthouse was really nice and helpful and we felt welcomed very much also by the rest of the staff. The garden is a perfect relaxing spot with one of the best views of the island. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and very clean. We can highly recommend Ananda!

Great location in Balgue and the place is surrounded by nature, and despite this it is very clean. The owners are super kind and you can sense their love for this place. Tasty breakfast (homemade bread) and food available at the hostel (good italian food for lunch and dinner as one of the owners is Italian!). They were happy to provide advice and information on what to do in the area. Communal space upstairs was amazing and relaxing. The chickens running around the garden was giving exactly the vibes you get around Ometepe Island. Loved it here.

Had an amazing stay in Cabana el ojoche! We booked for 4 nights but extended it for a whole week. It was so nice to have our own appartment and garden. It was also super clean and they cleaned it during our stay as well. The location is perfect, near to everything you need and it also felt really safe. We also loved the privacy. Shoutout to Junior who was an amazing host. He helped us a lot with recomendations and went on some hikes with us. Would definetely recommend this cabana!

The owner was very accommodating and waited up late for our arrival after we were delayed. He also gave us some helpful tips and tricks for Ometepe and good recommendations. The place itself is pretty basic but all we needed and very good value for money. Lovely veranda with views of the lake and hammocks to relax in.

This place is a one of a kind gem in Ometepe. The food is amazing, the location is perfect (the lake is at the end of the lane if you want a quick dip) and it’s conveniently next to both shops and restaurants. The beautiful art that is characteristic of Lazy Crab is incredible, it made the vibe of the hostel relaxing and it was offset by the fireflies that are visible from the terrace in the evening. The owner was helpful, caring and was happy to share tips for the best places to visit on the Island. I will definitely be returning.

I absolutely loved staying here, I booked one night and then kept on extending for two weeks. As a solo traveller it was so easy to meet people and there was always activities or someone to go and do something with...it's definitely very easy to get stuck here. I had never been to a permaculture farm either, I really recommend the tour, the place is huge and fascinating. Also highly recommend the pancakes, and you can't go wrong with the cheap and healthy meal as the name suggests. Really reasonable prices and lots of information about what to do and see. Staff were very helpful too. Remember it is eco friendly so you will need your own light at night, you won't find a flushing toilet, it's a bit like glamping but you get a nice room and a comfy bed

A lovely little town on Ometepe Island.

A lovely little town on Ometepe Island. The locals were so nice and kind. I enjoyed riding around and just taking in all of the beautiful nature. Playa Mangoes was also a short drive from my hostel. I look forward to returning one day.

Very small place but with everything we needed.

Very small place but with everything we needed. We rented a scooter from Guti Motor Rentals. They were good would use them again. Cafe Campestre has fabulous food. We went everyday. As a days activity we walked up to Finca Magdalena and from there you pay a small fee and can visit the petroglyphs. On the way back there is a nice pool to swim in (small fee) On the other day we took our scooter out to Charco Verde Reserve. Would recommend. There’s a lovely walk and beach for a swim

There were several places to eat, one of which, Cafe...

There were several places to eat, one of which, Cafe Campestre, had Indian meals, hand-made pasta, and other selections. The only bad thing was dogs roaming through the restaurant looking for food. This is the only restaurant I ate at, and is probably by far the best place in town to eat. Didn't see any Nicas eating there. Probably kind of expensive for them.

Lots of great restaurants in the area.

Lots of great restaurants in the area. Make sure you have a way to move around, whether you rent a car or a motorcycle, it's very important you do. Eating at El Pital was amazing. There are three other restaurants I thoroughly enjoyed too: Bustavo Food Bus (which is right beside El Pital), Cafe Campestre, and Playa Mango.

The hotel is at a starting point to climb up the Maderas...

The hotel is at a starting point to climb up the Maderas volcano. My room had an amazing view of the Concepcion volcano. Although there is no kitchen, they provide delivery options . The pizza was wonderful!!!
