This is a lovely hotel which was an old sanitorium and the separate buildings have been converted into large comfortable rooms with good showers. The buffet dinner was great value and very good. Sitting outside by the fountain was wonderful.

The grounds are stunning, and so is the decor of the hotel. The breakfast is sumptuous! The hotel room was a very pleasing shape, as it was not square or rectangular, but had an interesting round window alcove with shutters. The bathroom was spotless and the shower had two choices of shower head. I also liked that scattered within the hotel were little seating areas and also very pretty garden areas with decorative statues and such. All in all an excellent hotel, very good value for money.

My room was located in new part of the building, but the old one is in really impessive rococo style. The town is very well renovated and you can feel the past, walking the streets. But the young lady at the reception is the real jewel in the hotel. She was helpul, giving much precise information abt town, that we needed, even the location of best cheese shop. Thank you / Dziekujemy!

    This is a decent hotel with very basic rooms (no luxury) but very comfortable beds! Value wise it’s a great overnight stay when exploring this beautiful area of The Netherlands! Great choice of breakfast. Dogs are welcome and plenty of nice walks nearby. Of course Deventer is a must-visit, but be sure to check out the nearby villages and towns. When in Laren (Gld) you must visit the iVintage store for great bargains, you won’t be disappointed!!

    I was solo bike touring, booked last minute, Hotel was a perfect place to stay, secure bike parking facilities and breakfast was great, Almen is a lovely village.
