Just came home from this beautiful hotel.. we really enjoyed it.. the bird park was amazing.. we had the window above it ..and it was fantastic every morning to see and hear the birds. The rooms are big and very .clean..The staff was very helpful when we asked for directions.. I really recommend it. Thank you. We had a wonderful week.

The apartment is great! It's bright and spacious, well equipped a view to the lake is outstanding! Restaurant downstairs is very nice and cozy, with fireplace and delicious food. Make sure to reserve a table in advance. In the worst-case scenario, food can be served in the apartment. Which is a great solution as per me.

Our stay at The Lake Inn was absolutely amazing! Winanda and Marco were incredible hosts—so warm and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed. They even gave us some fantastic dinner recommendations that we loved! From the moment we checked in to the cozy rooms and the delicious breakfast, everything exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again. Highly recommend!

we traveled with two dogs and were very pleased! The owner is very responsive and attentive. He sent us a video of the house, told us everything in detail, was always in touch. There is a very beautiful promenade next to the house. The location of the house is great. A cozy closed yard where you could just sit and relax watching the chickens

For many, the adjacent bird park is surely the main attraction. But Alphen has much more to offer, such as the small old town with its many pubs and restaurants, and the charming Dutch atmosphere with its waterfront properties, canals, and hydraulic engineering structures (bridges, weirs, etc.).

The hotel is quaint and very beautiful in its own way. I've also read the other reviews and noticed that there are many negative ones about the stairs. However, anyone who frequents the Netherlands should know that this is normal in that country.

Beautiful, high-quality decor.

Beautiful, high-quality decor. Everything worked perfectly, which is rare in a hotel. A very pleasant welcome, even in French! Really lovely. Quite reasonable price for the quality of the place.

Great hotel, too bad breakfast was in the room. It was left in front of the refrigerator in the evening. We left in the evening so got home late and don't know how long the food was out of the refrigerator.

when we arrived at 3 p.m. our room was not ready yet, so we could watch the birds, which was very nice despite the rain, when we wanted to order a table for dinner, this could be done at 4:30 or 6:30 p.m., as we had a party evening at 8 p.m. we could only eat at 4:30 p.m.

Lovely room with beautiful decoration, very clean, with excelent wi-fi and comfortable bed. Excellent location : right in the center of Alphen aan den Rijn, close to major cities and the coast ( especially if you have a car ). Biggest plus of this property is its amazing host : Jan Vic !!! Very kind, friendly, helpful, gave us many useful information and tips. We would definitely stay again and we highly recommend it !!!

We loved the warm welcome, and enjoyed experiencing first hand this converted Dutch barge which is an important part of local history - built in the town in 1926. This was a unique and budget friendly stay in the heart of Alphen aan den Rijn. We had good breakfasts and easy use of the facilities. Our hosts were friendly and attended any needs we had very happily.

We loved everything about this hotel. Superb room with view over the bird park and free admission into the park for hotel guests. The stuff couldn't have been more helpful and the hotel also an excellent restaurant.
