Property is exceptional. Really well furnished with high quality beds, bedding, sofas etc. Very spacious, especially the lounge. We were a group of 10 friends and had plenty of space. Pictures don't do it justice. Kitchen well stocked and had everything we needed - soap, kitchen towel, tea towels, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee. Soap in all the bathrooms. We all got 3 towels each. Bedroom layout is a little unusual but the rooms are very large and beds are very big so we found it ok to share. We didn't find we disturbed each other in the night. Beds very comfortable. The area around the property is stunning. Very beautiful. Bar outside and shops and cafes across the canal. Small supermarket around the corner, larger one 5 minutes walk away. Bakery on the way to the bus station. Lovely pizza restaurant 2 minutes walk away. Very easy to get in Amsterdam Centraal. Only a 25 minute scenic bus ride away (314). Buses are very regular and you simply tap on and tap off with your debit/credit card. Bus station only 5 minute walk from property with information screens telling you next buses. Buses run early and late. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially in a group. And it was lovely to see such a different place compared to Amsterdam

We both loved the breakfast! It was wonderfully presented with spectacular attention to detail. The sheep on the eggs were very cute and the small trash bin was a perfect addition. The room let in a bit of sunlight so it was beautiful. Very close to a bus stop that goes to Amsterdam Noord. We also much enjoyed the free tea

We had a wonderful stay at the Fortuna Spinoza. The building is truly impressive, and you can see in every detail how much care and love went into the renovation and the interior design of both the building and the rooms. Babette is a fantastic host, and we almost felt at home. The breakfast was excellent, beautifully prepared with great attention to detail and very tasty. We will definitely come back - it is a very special experience to be able to stay there.

Super cool accommodation resort. The sauna complex is classy and rustic, with many beautiful designs, like the Birdnest sauna. The hotel room was spacious and comfortable with gorgeous redesigning of the fort building. Quiet & dark in the morning. I guess being a fort helps soundproofing! I slept extremely well. The included buffet breakfast was delicious! Perfect for a couple's retreat.

I spent 8 days in Edam for a workshop so the time length was fine. If I hadn't had that activity, it would have been too long. It's a very pretty town with lovely canals and architecture. The bell-tower is lovely

A nice small quiet town with a few restaurants.

A nice small quiet town with a few restaurants. Very picturesque with lots of canals. Good transport links to Amsterdam so you don’t have to stay in the hustle and bustle of a busy city. Lovely towns nearby to visit. The only downside was that there was no convenience stores in the centre.

Historic quiet little town with great restaurants and a few interesting shops and some free parking. Easy drive to other attractions such as Marken, Volendam, Alkmaar Friday morning Cheese Market, Horne and Zuiderzee open air museum. A good home base.Recommend the Dom Hotel restaurant .

Edam is a wonderful city to visit.

Edam is a wonderful city to visit. Near the cheese museum and so much to discover. I was there for a sewing retreat and I enjoyed everyday. Lovely people and wonderful location. Greta connection with Amsterdam by bus and metro. My husband and I loved it.

Edam is a lovely village and great base for visiting...

Edam is a lovely village and great base for visiting Amsterdam, especially for families. There’s not a lot to do in Edam itself, but it’s really pretty and all the people we met were very friendly. There’s a lovely sweet shop too, and the owner gave our kids a free treat each.

Edam is a great little village.

Edam is a great little village. The cheese market is a must see. Get there a little early to get a front row seat, maybe 15 minutes before it opens. The canals are great and I recommend hiring a boat to do a one hour self guided tour. There are only a few restaurants in the town. We went to Volendam for food which was great. It is a bit hard to get to and even harder to get back. No Ubers available in the evening and all the taxi companies were not even picking up the phone. We eventually were able to find a bus to get back.

The location of the hotel is good, it is walking distance to downtown Edam and in spite of being across a busy road even though our room was facing the street it was quiet with the windows closed. The breakfast was good too, it is served at your table and included fresh orange juice, coffee or tea , a basket of assorted breads, butter, jam, hard boiled egg, and cheese and ham and a small platter of sliced fruit. So very complete and well served. I also liked the size and arrangement of our room, it was very pleasant.

We liked everything, it was a super stay! The top floor apartment was very clean and had everything we needed to cook. The location is perfect. It was quite easy to get in/out of the building and we never noticed any noise from nearby. Finally, the host was amazing with their fast and polite communication with us via message. I can’t wait to visit Edam again with this accommodation :)
