This b&b was exceptional, Tom is a wonderful host who is there to help with anything you need. We loved the room, the outdoor area, the peace and quiet and the lovely breakfast. We wanted to visit a farm and Tom phoned his neighbour and sorted everything he was a great host.

The lounge area is a very comfy space and the aircon unit very effective in that area. The kitchen is decently well equipped. There are plans to add a cafe or something along those lines. Currently there are no facilities.

Emmeloord has a wealth of shops, more than 100. And the hotel is located right in the city center. While the city lacks a historic atmosphere, it's a great base for exploring Gaasterland and the Weerribben. Emmeloord is centrally located.

We visited Pantropica (formerly the Orchid Farm) on Saturday...

We visited Pantropica (formerly the Orchid Farm) on Saturday, and it's definitely recommended. In the evening, we had dinner at the Greek restaurant Rodon in the center of Emmeloord; the food was good and the staff friendly. We didn't have time to actually explore Emmeloord, but we'll definitely save that for another time.

The surrounding area is diverse, with plenty of nature and...

The surrounding area is diverse, with plenty of nature and great cycling paths, and the sea is nearby. Emmeloord has everything you need for a wonderful short break. The hotel is a perfect fit. Charging stations for e-bikes and Tesla cars are available. There's also a lovely restaurant.

It was nice to stroll through Lange Nering again after...

It was nice to stroll through Lange Nering again after almost 40 years. All the shops you'd expect in a town were there. Friendly staff. We took a short walk at Schokland (the weather wasn't great...rain and wind) and had lunch at the restaurant there. Beautiful surroundings.

We visited Emmeloord.

We visited Emmeloord. The pandemic hasn't been kind to any country, and that's noticeable here too. Many shops in the back of the pedestrian zone were closed, while the front had some nice smaller shops. We stayed at the Van der Valk Hotel just outside the town. It's a quiet and pleasant hotel that we highly recommend.

Emmeloord is a great place to live and work.

Emmeloord is a great place to live and work. Its central location in Noordoostpolder makes it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding towns and villages. For example, you could visit Urk or Giethoorn, and in Luttelgeest, the orchid garden is well worth a visit. For dining in Emmeloord, I recommend SALUT in the pedestrian zone – very clean and offering good, reasonably priced meals.

The lighting in the breakfast room was exceptional . Breakfast choice was extremely good with excellent service. The staff are well trained and very educated. The room was big and very comfortable. with two armchairs and a round table. Obviously as separate writing desk. Very comfortable bed and pillows. All top notch. Bathroom very big with separate bath and shower. A definite hotel to go back too. Highly recommended.

This is a fine hotel. The rooms are clean, large and modern. The facilities are as-expected and efficient. The level of service is good. There is plenty of parking and easy access to the hotel. In short: this is nothing special but a perfectly fine way to spend a night.
