This whole hotel is not only furnished and decorated wonderful with a view for details, the staff was amazing and the food in the cafe great. The visit to the restaurant ODE was a wonderful and outstanding experience we will not forgot. The menu, the different dishes, the open kitchen , the staff - a beautiful evening to remember for a long time. Thank you to the crew from the hotel/ restaurant for that wonderful weekend.

The location is perfect, especially if you have a car, parking was no problem. The facilities were amazing, very quiet with a very comfortable bed. The restaurant was excellent. Dokkum is a lovely town and the hosts treated me like family. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Greta's. The apartment had everything we needed. Since we were there during Advent, the apartment was stylishly decorated for Christmas. Peaceful nights in the charming alcoves and the proximity to Dokkum and Harlingen made our holiday perfect.

We enjoy cycling, so we brought our bikes.

We enjoy cycling, so we brought our bikes. It's lovely to cycle along the seawall. There's a supermarket in Holwerd. Dokkum is within cycling distance of Holwerd. It's one of the eleven Frisian cities. You'll find the Ice Fountain there. The Admiralty House is also the Dokkum Museum. If you enjoy walking, you can take a lovely walk along the city's ramparts.

Holwerd is a very small village with not much to do.

Holwerd is a very small village with not much to do. However, the surrounding area is beautiful for cycling and walking. You're close to the ferry to Ameland. Dokkum is also a very pleasant town about 10 km from Holwerd. If you love peace, quiet, and nature, then you'll love it here!

If you're looking for some wonderful peace and quiet, you've come to the right place. The roads are easily accessible. From Holwerd, it's about a 20-minute drive to Leeuwarden, and you can easily reach the ferry to Ameland.

The location is interesting if you have different interests. The cycle paths are excellent. I would use the ferry to Ameland at different times (earlier to the island and later from the island).

Holwerd is a small town with beautiful, unusual houses, different in architecture than in other parts of the Netherlands. Unique, tall, thatched roofs. The locals are very friendly; everyone says hello to each other, some say hello, and no one passes by indifferently. The streets are clean, well-maintained, quiet, and safe. There are no crowds, so you can truly relax and recharge your batteries for the next day.

Beautiful room, quiet and cosy, big bathroom. Parking lot is a short walk away from the hotel but it's a pretty place to walk so no complaints about that.
