It was an unforgettable stay. The place is peaceful, idyllic and quiet, yet has easy access to restaurants, beaches, cafes. Whatever it as that you’re looking for, it is within reach. The B&B is one of the warmest, coziest places we have ever stayed. It is perfectly clean, and you can see that it is being taken care of with lots of love and attention to detail. But above all, the best thing about this lovely place is the hosts, the wonderful couple. They made us feel at home as soon as we stepped in. They are extremely helpful, very polite and always willing to help with a smile on their faces. We will definitely go back many more times…

Rijs itself is a lovely village, with a few restaurants and campsites. For a shop, you'll need to go to the next village. It's a good base for visiting charming towns in the southwest corner of Friesland. The landscape is beautiful, with meadows and forests. If you bring a bike, you can enjoy it even better than from a car.

Sneek is worth a visit, a sloop trip in better weather, Koudum Eetcafe Spoorzicht Hoofdstraat 69 the best ribs of my life, CAFE BRAZZERIE DE BLIZZARD in the smallest port of Europe is always worth a visit, kibbeling and great fries.

Beautiful surroundings with excellent walking and cycling trails. Lovely restaurants and terraces are a short distance away in Balk. Water sports enthusiasts will find plenty to do. It's a great base for exploring Frisian towns.

I really enjoyed staying in the garden rooms with a terrace.

I really enjoyed staying in the garden rooms with a terrace. The hotel also offers excellent food. The Rijs area is also perfect for day trips. The restaurant 't Mar on the edge of the IJsselmeer is also very nice.

Beautiful wooded surroundings, wonderful for cycling or walking. We ate at Nostalgie in Oude Mirdum, a very nice little restaurant. You can also enjoy a delicious meal at Mirnserklif, with a beautiful view of the IJsselmeer.

Professionally run hotel/restaurant with excellent service and friendly staff who went the extra mile. The restaurant's quality is also very good. Beautiful surroundings for walking and cycling. Excellent value for money. In short, a place to return to.

We had a very nice time in Rijs and enjoyed our stay in the chalet. The fireplace outside is super nice and we loved to spend the evenings outside on the comfy couche. Wilma ist a very nice and forecoming host. The chalet has everything you need and is all as pictured. We will definitely come back :)
