The view, the quirkiness, the fact our kids could slide on the site was a highlight! We used our drone from a higher point, 15 min walk from the cottage to film the kids and the view was absolutely amazing! The fjord was stunning! We found food at the local supermarket only a few minutes away by foot. The service station makes nice coffee which I grabbed early morning and off i went for a walk, full snow and freezing temp but it was a delight!

beautiful location but on main road. Opposite a river and fjord. Great for walking. the accommodation was private but very small. Perfect for one night. Had all facilities that were needed. Comfortable beds. Helpful and friendly hostess

Eidfjord is a really beautiful city.

Eidfjord is a really beautiful city. We enjoyed every moment there with those landscapes. Mountains, river and sandbeach will give you more relaxiation. You will have everything that will need for your stay. There is a small supermarket as well though we didn't think about the price ;-)

Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is...

Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is access to many activities and visits that I would recommend such as Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger and a lot of sensational excursions. Apart from that you have Hardangerfjord, the Ulvik/Voss area, Hardangervidda just a few kilometers away by car. And the town is small, quiet and charming.

Eidfjors is an idyllic place with many things to do or enjoy...

Eidfjors is an idyllic place with many things to do or enjoy. As main attractions you have the waterfall of Vøringsfossen, the norwegian nature center museum and the farms and views of Kjeåsen. Apart from that, other spectacular waterfalls and fantastic hikes. It is also a good place to relax and do nothing.

Overall it was good, but when we arrived there was no one there to check us in; we only received information about our rooms after we contacted them. If they had sent it to us earlier, we would have avoided the uncertainty.

Highly recommended.

Highly recommended. Both the cabins and the hotel, breakfast, and dinner are simply excellent. The hotel is beautifully decorated; highly recommended. The cabins have a lovely veranda where you can spend the evening.

Right in the middle of the snow to start exploring Hardanger. If you come over the Hardangervidda, you will see Vøringsfossen and Måbødalen. From Eidfjord you can go to Kjeåsen for a fantastic view completely free of charge.

So far (over a week of driving in southwest of Norway) it has been the best value for money stays we've had. Kitchen inside cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to make a quick meal. We even managed to get our laundry done with the washing machine located at the shower/toilet facilities. Would highly recommend if you want good value for money.

An over 100 year old history — creaky hallway floor boards and ageing carpet part of the charm to me, and something I appreciate further after learning about the hotel carried down generations. The rooms most importantly are more restored, very clean and comfortable and buffet breakfast is good — didn’t have the chance to try the restaurant.

Hotel offered a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The room was decent, providing a basic level of comfort. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home. The breakfast was filling and satisfying, and the complimentary coffee and juice were a nice touch. It provided a good value for money experience.
