It was by far the coziest place we're stayed in, everything from the decor to the people, there's a warmth that's hard to describe in words. In 5 nights we had bad weather and no northern lights until the very last night when we simply WALKED OUTSIDE OUR ROOM AND SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. I was greeted with my name at the door and the staff were all so friendly, kind, and helpful. It felt like I was talking to friends whenever I needed help with anything. They arranged excursions for me which were lots of fun and I really recommend, especially the husky sledding. The room was extremely clean and comfortable and the style of the interior of the hotel is beautiful and unique. It had a lot of character. The breakfast was tasty with a variety of choices and the chef takes one’s allergies into account. There is free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in reception and it was nice to sit there with other guests and have a drink with locally produced alcohol. The location is along the main shopping street of Longyearbyen and the airport bus stops right outside. Absolutely lovely experience. I will certainly come again.

A quiet place to relax and enjoy your stay. The standard room is big and comfortable, warm with heavy curtains to block the sunlight. The staff were very kind and helpful with whatever we needed. The breakfast had a large variety of goodies and the place itself has a stunning view and a cozy feeling. The Nansen restaurant inside the hotel serves delicious food.

The host is incredible, she is really taking care about her customers. The "shared" bathrooms are clean and you only have to share it with one other room! Plus, there is an additional toilette for the 1sr floor. The living room is very cozy and the kitchen is fully equipped. On top the host always puts some sweets and basics for everyone in the kitchen. I really enjoyed my trip and would highly recommend the Haugen Pensjonat for your trip to Spitzbergen/Svalbard!

The apartment is cozy and modern, it has everything you would need, great view, and for photographing the Northern Lights it is pretty close to the end of town and a dark area where visibility is quite good. About 10 minutes to the town center by foot as well.

Everything! One of the best hostels I've ever stayed. The toilets were always incredible clean and free. The rooms were bit small, but enough. The breakfast was amazing!! The view for the city was also amazing! 10 stars all around
