Great apartment, really nice family, very friendly and helpful with recommendations for what to do and see in the area. The apartment is in a quiet small town with a beautiful view. The whole apartment is perfect and the facilities are excellent. Everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Was our favourite accommodation in 4 weeks of travelling . So much nicer than the touristy areas

The location was perfect. It was in the middle of Sortland town, very close to restaurants etc. The surrounding was very nice, with trees and a nice view. We had our morning coffe at the balcony of the apartment in a beautiful sunshine.

The house was in a quiet area between mountains and fields which was great for a walk in the evening. You could hear the birds and the sheep walking about. The host was very helpful and communicative and the access to the rooms was with a keypad which was very convenient. You get the whole second floor to yourselves along with a private entrance and terrace.The view from the terrace was incredible at the night! The rooms themselves were very clean and cozy, everything needed was there. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Definitely recommend.

It's hard to capture the experience in words, which is why writing this review is particularly tricky. But we really had a wonderful stay at the property. We were with four people, and the hosts personally welcomed us to the property and showed us around. It's a nice 2 storied house with a terrace and a stunning view over a fjord. We were a bit ravished after a day of driving (and a week of sailing preceding that), and the little snacks and fruit that the hosts left for us were particularly welcome. It felt like arriving at home to your family rather than an rental property. The whirlpool is a whole different story in itself. Prior to going to Norway I had this image of what it would be like to celebrate New Year there. And I imagine sitting in a jacuzzi, warm and cosy, while being surrounded by harsh elements and cold. This is exactly what we got to experience during our stay. But with the added benefit of again enjoying a stunning view over the fjord and the ripples an occasional wind gust left on its waters. It was nothing less than magical. The property also has a full complement of equipment for various activities, such as SUP boards (with life vests), fishing rods and barbecue. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to enjoy these, but seeing all the possibilities made me want to come back to the property and spend a few more nights there next time.

Sortland was a great place to stay for a family of four interested in nature and history in Vesterålen. We had a rental car and drove around to different places every day during a week. It was a great experience to visit towns and communities and enjoy the spectacular scenery in the region.

Sortland is the main city and the center of life in the...

Sortland is the main city and the center of life in the Vesteralen archipelago, meaning that it has good shopping possibilities. It is not particularly attractive as a city but a good stopover. Its pecularity is an artistic move to paint buildings in blue, in order to belie its name, meaning 'the Black Land'. There are not so many places for eating out, but we had a pleasant dinner at "Du Verden", located near the quay in the downtown area.

Beautiful weather gave Sortland a lift.

Beautiful weather gave Sortland a lift. Friday and Saturday everything is open for shopping and cafes. Sunday everything is closed for dining and accommodation. Exception a bowling cafe, where it was possible to eat a little. Or you can buy bread at the store. Small bakery cafe Mischela coffee bar, in the shopping center every visit.

A wonderful hotel. It meets all your expectations. Coffee in the lounge was free. There's a pleasant terrace. The breakfast is incredibly extensive. The staff are very friendly. Paid parking is available at the hotel.

We travelled from Tromsø to Sortland on the Arctic Route bus. This route is highly recommended. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Sortland Hotel. Since we only stayed one night, we only explored the area around the hotel this time – absolutely beautiful!

Sortland served as our base for day trips to explore the Vesterålen islands by car. A detailed map of the Vesterålen is very helpful for this; you can get one from the tourist information office in Sortland for 10 NOK.

Staying in a cabin such as Bo Huset was an excellent experience. On our road trip through northern Norway, we experienced hotels and lodges, but not a cabin. Nicely situated in the countryside, Bo Huset is a great place to stay in order to experience the area. And when you come home you will enjoy the silence. Compliments for the fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed preparing our meals. Compliments for contemporary art, which was created by the owner's family - extraordinary! Thank you for the warm welcome.

Good breakfast. The room in the annex, another building 300 m away with no reception, was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and check in was at Hotel Sortland. Centrally located hotel with shopping and harbour within walking distance. Easy booking from our car while on the road. At check out we could leave keys in the annex building. Nice and helpful staff at the desk.
