Several new improvements in Balclutha since I was there 6 years ago. An exceptional Huge new Information Center overlooking the bridge and river. With very helpful staff. A new Woolworth's supermarket as well.

Balclutha is a small rural country town, there all the facilities you need, plenty of places to eat out and shops etc. It is not a city with loads of night life. Dunedin is about an hour away It's a good base to explore the Catlins and the south of the South Island of NZ. The beach at Kaka point is only 20 minutes away there is a street food caravan serves excellent fish and chips. The drive from Balclutha to Cromwell, Queens Town, Wanaka, Milford sound and Lake Takapo are breath taking.

The new information centre and war memorial was fabulous.
The new information centre and war memorial was fabulous. The staff were ultra helpful and friendly and proved to be a real asset to the town. The views are fabulous around the town and I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Rooms well appointed and fresh and clean.
Staff friendly and helpful
Restaurant had a good range of meals for most, just didn't cater for dairy free group member.

Clean and comfortable at a reasonable price. Not a tourist destination as such. Got a free shuttle bus to a local hotel / restaurant for food. The driver was confused / amused / surprised that tourists would stay in Balclutha … but it was perfect for our schedule and route.

Very well appointed, quiet, comfortable, cozy (under floor heating). Modern and pretty much everything has been thought through well. I've stayed in many 4 star hotels and B&B's in NZ and around the world. I can't recall a better experience!

Very comfortable rooms,very clean, comfortable beds. They provide a excellent breakfast service and complimentary drinks. We were made to feel very welcome, would highly recommend this hotel to stay and we would certainly visit again.

Stunning, comfortable accommodation with great facilities and plenty of room to relax and spend time with family in generously sized living area. Handily located for Balclutha township and surrounding areas.
