You will need a car in Dunedin.

You will need a car in Dunedin. We went to St Clair and then around to swim at Smails Beach. There were seals on the beach and almost no-one around. On Sunday we went to the market at the railway station. The Taieri Gorge Railway was excellent. Plenty of things to do in the area.

A unique coastal city filled with beautiful old buildings, parks, a great harbour for sailing, and world class surf on the doorstep. As you go South from Dunedin the scenery just keeps getting better.

There is so much more to see in Dunedin than what I could...

There is so much more to see in Dunedin than what I could see on this trip, but I couldn't stay away from home for too long. Dunedin is a great place, museums, art galleries, interesting buildings to visit, beaches, historic homes and public buildings, wildlife places... and it's not overrun by tourists like Queenstown....

Historical city, beautiful old buildings, Railway Station...

Historical city, beautiful old buildings, Railway Station and trains awesome. Museum’s great. Easy to get around. Otago Peninsula is beautiful and the wildlife is amazing. Easy drive down the scenic route along the coast to the Catlins. Nugget point lighthouse is worth visiting. Just have to allow time to travel from the airport into and out of the city if flying in. It’s about a 20 minute drive.

Like any university city there is a vibrancy around the town...

Like any university city there is a vibrancy around the town when the students are about. The warehouse district is a particularly great place to stay and appreciate all the wonderful old buildings that have been refurbished and repurposed for a mixture of residential and commercial purposes. As a result there are many great eating options to choose from as well as plenty of places to shop. It was great to see bakers and butchers in the inner city a short sign that life is returning to the centre of Dunedin I would highly recommended Dunedin as a great place to spend a week or so there are plenty of natural attractions within a short distance of the city along with attractions, such as Larnach Castle and Olveston. Dunedin art gallery also has some fantastic art on display as well as revolving exhibitions. We stayed close to the centre of Dunedin and a lovely refurbished warehouse and found that everything we required for eating was within walking distance.

The hotel is set in a fantastic location, right next to the beach. The staff were great upon our arrival and our room was excellent. We had a nice ocean view from the balcony, the room was clean and well appointed. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. There was onsite parking available and a few nice restaurants and cafes nearby. We were given complimentary tickets to the heated seawater pool about 150m from the hotel which we made use of. It was easy to get to the Otego Peninsular, the Albatross Centre and central Dunedin.

The hotel is large and has a beautiful garden view. Parking is very convenient. The staff is very friendly and gave us milk. There are also cookies in the room, and we are very grateful! The facilities are complete, the room is clean, and the bed is very comfortable. The transportation is also very convenient. Dunedin and this hotel are both good places! There are also corresponding instructions and tips for guests in the room. Highly recommended.

The Hotel is located just up from the Dunedin town hall above the Octagon. It is close to a number of restaurants and cafes. There is car parking but call ahead to make sure that you can find parking. This is an older hotel but room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was included - continental and cooked options. It is uphill if you are walking from Princes Street so if walking is difficult you just need to take your time

Truly a lovely spot that shows off Dunedin hospitality. The accommodation was warm (dry!) and cozy. Everything, including the super comfy bed was clean and tidy. I deeply appreciated the hospitality of Anabel and Matt -- their kindness went a long way in creating a seamless experience in the hotel. Breakfast was 10/10, especially for the portion sizes.
