We liked everything about this house! It was perfect for my husband, our two grown children and myself. Recently updated bathroom, beautiful, comfortable bedrooms, great living room and kitchen. We could hear the ocean from the house and loved the walk along the beach to a fun restaurant (the Pour House) for dinner, and a cute coffee place for take away bread set and amazing coffee.

We loved the location; how we could walk right out the front of our bach and step onto a sandy pathway to a gorgeous beach. Perfect for evening walks and early morning sunrise viewing. Comfy beds and everything we needed as far as appliances, shovels for the hot water beach, enough towels for shower and beach.

What Guests Said About Hahei:

Hahei is beautiful.

Hahei is beautiful. Hahei beach is so beautiful as is Hot Water Beach. If I could I would return to Hahei time and time again. The little town of Hahei has what you need, a small general store, liquor store and restaurants. If you need a big grocery shop, you need to go in Whitianga which is a long drive around (45 minutes to an hour) or one can go by ferry at Cooks Bay and walk into town for a bigger shop, but be sure to have a trolley bag to carry your groceries. I would say that is the only disadvantage to Hahei,

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay.

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay. Hahei has a beautiful beach and you are also very close to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water beach so it’s a great location. Both these spots are a must when you are visiting Hahei. We walked to Cathedral Cove from our apartment. It took us about 40 min and is a pretty steep incline for the first half of the walk but worth it for the views. We took the water taxi back from the cove to Hahei which was a quick but very fun trip. Hot Water beach is a unique experience. Take your shovel and be sure to check when low tide is before you make the trip over there. The Pour House in Hahei is a great spot to sit and have a drink outside. Their pizzas and fish & chips are also great. There are several other spots for breakfast and coffee too that are also great.

Hahei is central for visiting other beaches nearby such as Cathedral Cove, currently accessible only by boat or kayak. We took the boat/water taxi and had a great trip - bonus - saw dolphins. We also visited Coromandel township via SH25 - quite a windy road but worth the trip for the views and to walk around Coromandel township.

Very picturesque beach, boat tour company very friendly/professional, limited options for easy dining (it was winter so some shops/cafe closed), but The Pour House was excellent and Beach Cafe was good value.

Our host was lovely and helpful and it was the perfect location . The negative things I posted were just meant for constructive info , when was asked what could be improved upon! Overall , despite the small room , it was Excellent ! I would stay there again ! ( please remove what appears as negative!)

Wonderful, clean, tasteful place to stay! We loved our time here! Very short walk to the beach and town eateries/shops. Erin was lovely and gave helpful information about things to do. A real bonus was her darling dog Cleo. Would highly recommend staying here!

The place had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday - comfortable bed, hot shower, spacious, sun streaming through to encourage a nap or two, quiet visits from the cat 😄. It's also a short walk to the beach (a beautiful spot, which is where a kayaking tour starts, which is also highly recommended) & where the shops are. The hosts are friendly, kind & responsive. Highly recommended this place if you're staying at Hahei beach.

The hotel's charming cottages are situated among beautiful, well maintained gardens for picturesque views from your private deck. The location is fantastic - an easy walk to the downtown area and Hahei Beach. It's peaceful, safe and comfortable - a delightful and perfect place for a stay on the peninsula! An added plus: the hotel's restaurant provides some of the best meals I've had since coming to New Zealand!

The Hahei Beach Resort is located next to the Hahei Beach so we enjoyed the swimming during our stay. We loved it so much that we booked one more night in the Garden studio which was even more fantastic. The resort staff was kind and let us check in earlier so we could take a shower after kayaking in the morning.

A lovely, self contained bach has all you could need for a luxurious stay. It’s just a five minute stroll to the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. We rented a kayak and paddled to Cathedral Cove. HaHei is laid back with some great eateries. We wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you Gavin
