The owners were really interested in their guests, friendly and approachable for any discussion or questions. The location and facilities met our expectations, such that everything was provided to allow us to self cater. Centrally located with the shops and supermarket all within an easy walk. I would recommend people visiting the Takaka area to stay at this motel.

Absolutely loved the stay here at Abel Tasmen. The Service Staff were lovely especially the charming receptionist who helped us figure what locals do at Abel and also managed to get us a cheese board & wine after the kitchen was shut.. The Rooms were nice as well.

Incredible and unique experience. From the self drive buggy up the hill, to the mind blowing views in every direction. Absolutely unforgettable stay and we wished we'd had longer!
