United StatesThe lovely facilities, grounds, and rooms were top-notch in quality, comfort, and cleanliness. The guest lounge, porch, and kitchen provided plenty of space and amenities to meet the needs of everyone. Loads of delicious home baked goodies for welcome treat, breakfast, and snacking. The breakfast was sumptuous and the variety and quality of offerings was astounding. Even with all of these truly excellent aspects of the B&B, the best part of all were our hosts, Philip & Daphne. They were kind, generous, informative, helpful, and friendly and took such great care of us during our stay. We felt, and were treated, like long time friends.

Lovely small town in a spectacular setting by the Buller River, surrounded by high hills.
Good little supermarket and library.
The Lazy Cow has a pizza restaurant.

Friendly & nice staff in shops.
Cool antiques shops to check out.
Lady at museum very nice and knowledgeable about the area, gives good guidance.

Fantastic location, great opportunity to rest, relax and enjoy time with family away from normal hustle and bustle of life. Loved the slower pace and wood burning fire in the evening. Great winter hide-away haven!

What a brilliant place to stay, can't fault it and can't...
What a brilliant place to stay, can't fault it and can't praise it highly enough. The building was beautiful, the room and bed really comfortable and cooking facilities excellent. Phillip and Daphne were really welcoming and helpful and the breakfast early in the morning was superb. I'd highly recommend Murchison Lodge to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Absolutely loved the place.
Absolutely loved the place. The lodge had a great walkway down to the river. Everything was just fabulous from chocolate brownies in the room to friendly people. We played in the Open Murchison golf tournament, which is always well organised and the food yummy. Swimming in the river was a highlight on both days. Great swingbridge, 10km out of town. Fantastic.

Usually we pass through Murchison, but this time we made it...
Usually we pass through Murchison, but this time we made it a stopover for a night. We loved this place. It is in a very picturesque valley, in a lovely warm microclimate, with kayaking and hiking on the doorstep. The nearby swingbridge and cometline were a must. Great pizza from the Cow Shed! We could easily spend more time exploring the surrounds, with a base of the fabulous Murchison Lodge.

Lovey big room looking out on to the garden, nice to have some colour in the decor as most motels we have stayed in have been quite bland. Everything in the room, small kitchen you would need for a night stop over. Nice selection of toiletries, including hair conditioner and body lotion. Very clean property. Very close to local amenities. Definitely would recommend as a stop over .

We were very happy with the cleanliness of the facilities and friendliness of the staff. We had everything we needed to stay warm and had a good night’s sleep. It was very wet and cold in Murchison so I would’ve preferred a more tropical atmosphere for romance. The warmth in the locals welcome and helpfulness was genuine though.

Located in the centre of Murchison is this gem. Lovely clean and warm cabin in a mini bush setting. Trampoline, tree swing, out door kitchen, games and our cabin (tūī) had its own little brazier for our use. We had a lovely time make a fire roasting marshmallows and making smores. Would stay again if passing through.
