It started at the front desk Ashia (and apols if I spelt it wrong) looked after us very well and throughout our stay in providing recommendation of where to eat the night of arrival. Our room was spacious and obviously very well serviced, and as a bonux it overlooked the Esplanade. From my wife's perspective this stay was clearly the highlight of our trip to NZ.

Boutique Hotel Kaikoura is housed in a historic 1880s building, just 10 minutes' walk from Kaikoura Town. Each room features a refrigerator, a 32-inch flat-screen TV and a coffee/tea plunger.

Everything suited our requirements for accommodation whilst on the road. I would not recommend it for those without own transport though as it is a little way from shops & waterfront.

The undercover car park, the spacious living area, not to mention the fabulous views of the mountains and the sea. And being able to hear the waves was breath-taking. Having a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped. Shops and restaurants were are short walk away. There's a cafe and restaurant only two minutes walk away that cater for people with food allergies/intolerances. And seeing dolphins from our balcony with the use of the apartment telescope was just exciting.

Location and view. So many nice touches and a fab breakfast
