Lovely rooms with such great attention to detail, everything is so cozy that you'll feel right at home. The spa is fantastic, the garden is a marvel and the breakfast is really great. Serge & Marie are just lovely people to be around, they gave me excellent recommendations for sightseeing around the area and made me feel incredibly welcome in their beautiful home.

The owners were really interested in their guests, friendly and approachable for any discussion or questions. The location and facilities met our expectations, such that everything was provided to allow us to self cater. Centrally located with the shops and supermarket all within an easy walk. I would recommend people visiting the Takaka area to stay at this motel.

Friendly host, useful travel tips Situated away from the the town, just a few minutes drive. So many beautiful spots to be explored from Takaka, the spring, the falls, beaches, salmon farm for the lunch, many walks, we should stay longer. Beautiful unit with outdoor seating and beautiful sunset view and beautiful night sky, surrounded by birds songs. Well equipped apartment with everything we need. Laundry facilities are available at communal area. Interesting glow worm cave to be explored at night.

We love this beach - especially in winter!

We love this beach - especially in winter! It is also very close to some special places - Tata and Ligar Beaches, the Wainui Falls, the Grove Reserve and more - always something new to discover. Molly Bs is to be reccommended…and the cafes of Takaka are not far away.

Great beach, and more good beaches nearby. Quiet summer holiday location that was still buzzing (in late Jan) with holiday-makers and had the comforts you might relish (local choices for bar & cafe & shop for groceries). A great place for a summer vacation.

We loved having a cabin so close to the ocean.

We loved having a cabin so close to the ocean. We had the luxury of seeing the sunset from our cabin which was stunning. Beach views were fantastic. Very comfortable and clean cabin. Staff have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. Would highly recommend Pohara Top 10.

The town is simple and clean, I came for a spiritual class...

The town is simple and clean, I came for a spiritual class and it's on a retreat centre up the mountain .. might be it's now getting into winter , there's not a lot of tourists around and make it easy to drive around and visit places.. the weather was good ( not windy so it's good to hv a walk on the beach in the late afternoon..

A great place to stay.

A great place to stay. Lovely safe beach for walking and swimming. Wainui falls and labyrinth rocks not far away. About 20 minutes to Tākaka for a browse through really interesting shops and 40 minutes to Collingwood for the farewell spit tour. Nothing disappointed.

YOU COULD TRIP YOURSELF OVER ONTO THE BEACH ITS THAT CLOSE, THERE IS NOTHING I DISLIKE LIKE ABOUT POHARA. MOLLY B'S WAS THE BOMB FOR FOOD AND DRINKS, SUPER FREINDLY STAFF..THANKS FOR TAKING CARE OF US JO & IT WAS VERY NICE METTING YOU!

Thank you very much for letting us use your wonderful house at Pohara. It is simply amazing and could not have picked a nicer place to Stay. When we are asked for a review, it will be absolutely glowing as we found it just what we would expect if we were renting a place. If we are ever back in the area again we would love to book it again and we will be telling friends and family the same. Thank you again so very much.

The host was so welcoming and even made up a small cottage for us to stay in, as they were fully booked for our first night. It's a great place to stay if you're wanting to explore the Tasman/Golden Bay region. Pizza night was cool too - just bring your topping and have it cooked in the pizza oven outside. Fantastic! We had all we needed and the ambience of all the Tui outside was awesome. Great place - highly recommend!

Lovely stay. It was smaller than I expected as the details looked like it had a separate bedroom but it is a compact studio. Flyscreens would be appreciated. Nice view and easy walk to beach and cafes.
