I have been to Queenstown many times, so it is about picking the things you like to do. We were only there for a couple of days (as part of a wider trip). I could recommend Better by Bike - picking up e-bikes at Arrowtown and riding to Gibbston Valley, having lunch and then return. 30kms round trip on the Queenstown trail. Easy bike trail with stunning scenery.

Since we were last there, Queenstown has become overcrowded and difficult to get around. Traffic was generally a nightmare, with very little parking. We went to Queenstown mainly to take the TSS Earnslaw cruise and barbecue. It did not disappoint and made the detour worthwhile.

Queenstown was by far the busiest place we stayed at over our 2 weeks journey. Plenty of places to eat and things to do in the town and surrounding areas. We enjoyed the Saturday Market down by the lake and seeing local artisans display their work. just make sure you have a healthy budget to enjoy all the opportunities on offer.

Great little town with exceptional views of the mountains every which way you go. Snow capped meant they were picture perfect. Weather was warmer than expected. Stunning day drives to Glenorchy, Arrowtown, Cardrona, Wanaka, Cromwell, Kingston

Queenstown is a lovely and amazing place with snow-capped mountains and stunning lake views. We enjoyed the Skyline gondola and luge experience. We're thrilled with the jetboat ride. Short drive to Arrowtown and Glenorchy. It was easy to walk around the town centre.

Queenstown is definitely geared to catering for tourists, especially for those who are adventure seeking. However it is still suitable as a destination for those who are happy to just walk around the Botanical Gardens, enjoy the views over Lake Wakatipu or go for a scenic ride on the steamship TSS Earnslaw. We usually end our trips to NZ's South Island with staying in Queenstown just to wind down, enjoy nice meals accompanied by local wines, and going for strolls around town.

This boutique guest house was incredible! My partner and I stayed for 3 nights. The staff were amazing & extremely accommodating - from an early check in to overall service. The location was fantastic as well. Queenstown is built on a hill. It was just 1 steep street to the city centre. Couldn’t have been easier to get to and from town. The bed. We usually stay in mainstream hotels, but the mattresses are always terrible. Our room had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed on.

View of lake from the balcony is amazing, and its nice to be very close to town centre but also close to all the amenities in frankton and the airport. 2 parking spaces included. Comfortable beds and lounge area, good amount of space in the kitchen dining area. Whole apartment was clean and check in process was easy. Was around $1000 dollars cheaper than a comparable apartment in the same complex on Air Bnb so much better value for money despite higher Queenstown rates generally.

We love staying in The Rees Hotel & Luxury Apartments. I am always a bit anxious when travelling with families. But I'm glad we had a decent stay for 5 nights. The hotel apartments are beautiful and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Kids' meals were NZD12 in a big portion(See photo fish and chips). Hotel service was great! The location, the views, and everything else were just wonderful! Highly recommended it if you are going to queenstown.
